I was in Cancun last Wednesday thru tomorrow (8/22) but got scared and caught a Delta flight out on Sunday due to the approaching hurricane Dean. The hotel was being evacuated. Will Funjet give me anything back on my all inclusive since I had to leave? I bought their travel insurance.

I know that it’s for safety reasons…but what are those safety reasons? They clear everyone out of the pool every hour or so for like 15 minutes. Does anyone know the reason for this? Thanks!

My Mom and Grandmother couldnot get off the island in time, and are sitting tight.

They have supplies etc.

I’m doing correlation analysis between atmospheric pressure and wind speed during hurricanes. The problem is, I only have data for atmospheric pressure. Is there an equation where I can plug in the pressure so I can get the equivalent wind speed? Thanks for your help!

We are traveling to Cancun on Friday morning and staying 9 days…I just received warning that there is a blue advisory for Cancun regarding tropical storm Gustav. Does anyone know what the likely hood is that this storm would hit Cancun and if so would it effect flight schedules?

I have been watching the weather for Cancun for the past 3 weeks and the warning has been white all along so when I checked it today on www.cancunweathertoday.com and it was marked blue I started freaking out.
As of right now it won’t hit Cancun till Saturday night and it will only bring some strong storms. If the airlines fly in you will be ok they wont’ bring passengers in for a bad storm. Good luck everyone.

If you’ve ever watched the weather channel , you will remember Max Mayfield , the recently retired director and beloved hurricane forecaster . Mayfiled was the head guru , top-dog of hurricanes .
He retired in January , and now the new guy is under attack by what seems to be his entire staff . They all wrote letters calling for his immediate removal . I guess he exagerated about needing new equipment and the consequences if he doesn’t . So they rebelled and are now ignoring him !! Ohhhhhh my !! LMAO .
So my question is : What do you think will be their next move ? . . . Duels with their pointers ? Thunderbolts ? I hear they’re already in heated battle using sling-shots and hail stones . One guy almost bit the dust when he got hit in the heart , but was miraculously saved by his pocket-protector !! Smile .
