Hurricane Katrina video from Slidell, LA as a 15 foot storm surge battered the area. TornadoVideos.net storm chasers were trapped on a second floor balcony in Slidell before catching a ride on a fishing boat, and hitch-hiking back to Oklahoma City. I often have dreams about snakes and tornado’s. Last night I had both in one night. Now in real life I feel differently about snake and tornado’s then most people. I love them both think they are so beautiful. The dream I had last night the tornado was coming down very very slow. Instead of running away I ran to it to get my cam from my house. It wasn’t blowing anything just there. I was under it looking up taking photos. I remember a feeling of being picked out by a higher power via the tornado. There was no other storm or anything just a dark tornado. With the snakes there were 2 hiding in my house. Both small and vivid colors like one was black and white and one was a lovely brown. as i tried to catch them they bit me a total of 3 times and my blood was blue that came out. In my mind i knew it was ok because they were not poisonous. My question is, because i feel differently then most about them when I am awake is my dream interpretation different?
I read something when the hurricane season started. But I dont remember it. They just said it would be different.

I have just finished an exhaustive 15 year study to determine the greatest feats of human civilization here are my results:
Greatest Man: MLK Jr. This man was so great, he is less a man and more a god. The most important person who ever lived, by a wide margin.
Greatest Work of Music: The Chain Song. A close one between this and Beethoven’s Fifth but this wins out for it’s broader audience.
Greatest Work of Courage: The people of New Orleans surviving. This was the worst thing that could have happened. Luckily, these self-reliant, nobel heroes survived Bush’s hurricane attack and pressed on.
Greatest Work of Art: The dances of Hip Hop. The height of artistic splendor.
Incredible video of two beautiful, yet destructive tornadoes tearing through Kansas grassland on June 9, 2005. TornadoVideos.net storm chasers capture this rare site from close range as usual, after their windshield was cracked by huge hail. I’m talking about NON-perishable goods like bottled water, canned soups, pasta, peanut butter, and supplies such as flashlights, batteries, candles and (most importantly) generators.
Please see the following article from Thursday’s Houston Chronicle: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/fron…
I don’t like doing this, but I’ve had to re-post this question a second time, because most of the answers I got before were so stupid, and here’s a sampling:
1. "Most people don’t have the credit or money to buy a generator,"
Well, they sure do have the money now, don’t they? There were 60 people lined up at a Home Depot in Houston for four hours on Wednesday. Had they gone to Home Depot a month ago, they could’ve not only avoided the long lines but also gotten a nice generator at a better price than what it’s selling for now.
Idiots.
2. "Part of it is because people live paycheck to paycheck."
Not enough money to buy a generator? What about the 60 people standing in line for four hours at Home Depot to pay 0 for a generator? Did all 60 of those boneheads win the lottery just last week, and that’s why they’re only buying a generator now? Less than 24 hours before a Category 4 hurricane is expected to make landfall? Great planning, people.
3. "Some people don’t have time to buy these things beforehand"
But they DO have time to stand in line for four hours at Home Depot, in the sweltering 90-degree Houston heat.
4. "People are defying the inevitable, and praying that it won’t happen."
I’m 30 years old, and I have life insurance. I certainly pray that I’ll make it through each day alive, but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to prepare with the necessary contingencies in case something ever happens to me.
5. "The local media like to scare people"
If you live in Houston and you have even an ounce of common sense, then you should know that every year at around this time, you’re gonna get threatened by hurricanes. And you’re gonna need the usual non-perishable foods and supplies.
So why not go shopping for these items and store them away a month or so before hurricane season? If hurricane season passes without incident and the emergency kit goes unused, then you can use the food items before they spoil and then simply re-stock those items the following summer. What is so hard about this???
I would think that if anybody knew how to prepare for a hurricane, it would be the folks in South Texas. And I would think that Houstonians would have already learned their lesson after T.S. Allison seven years ago.
Dear Friends,
I developing weather forecasting web site as my final year project in
my degree program. In this case I measure following weather attributes
using electronic circuits periodically and store them in database.
1. Wind Speed
2. wind Direction
3. Humidity
4. Temperature
5. Rain Fall
In my website I m hoping to distribute simple weather
forecast for registered customers. But I don’t know how to build
weather forecast using above attribute. So I really appreciate if you
help me on this problem. Please help me to build a formula to generate
weather forecast only using above attributes it will big help for me.
Please advise me on this case.
How do you people who believe in global warming explain the false predictions? After hurricane Katrina, the high priests of global warming predicted more and more class 5 hurricanes. For the past twenty years, the high priest has kept pushing his doomsday clock back by 5-10 years. How can cold weather, like this current month of May, or two bitterly cold winters in a row, be blamed on global warming? How do you account for the polar ice caps growing to pre-1980 levels? And why was the label of your church changed from "global warming" to "climate change."
And what do you think of this new church heralding the next ice age? Which, to me, makes far more sense if you bother to read the Pravda link.

With the Chile volcano errupting after being dormant for 9000 years - the cyclone in Myranamar- the deadly storms here in the US this weekend and now the horrible earthquake in China…
I just don’t recall seeing so many weather related catastrophic events so often… it’s only May.
I am freaked out now for Hurricane Season as I live in Florida…
I am doing a research project on biomes….. I decided to focus on the ocean… But now my teacher is telling me that I need an Introduction with a Thesis Statement (Something that I can prove) My thesis is: The ocean is the most unpredictable and unstable biome… And I wrote down some examples of cyclones, urricanes and that stuff and pictures.. But my teacher did not think it was enough. What else should I put?

or anything for shelter? And just let there dog bark all day long. The dog does have long hair but still it needs to have an option of a dog house especially if its raining a lot.
My home insurance agency denied my claim after hurricane dolly. They said they couldn’t cover my home because there were no broken windows an no missing shingles. Is there anything i can do or should i just settle for their discussion?
Every salesman is tellin me something different, at this point i dont know who to belive. i wish i knew someone in the shutter buisness!
In other words, if the Government took over Health Care in America, would it actually block us from getting good heath care for ourselves?
Did meterologist do a good job of predicting it?

Why do people have to act like such boneheads in this situation? I realize that Houston is home to NASA, but it shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you wait until the last minute to buy these things, the shelves might be bare by the time you arrive at the store.
So now, what’s going to invevitably happen is people are going to crowd the local Home Depots and start fighting with other customers over the last generator in stock. Wouldn’t it have been a good idea to have gone to Home Depot two months ago and bought a generator then, knowing that you’d be fighting like a rabid dog come hurricane season??? Duhhhhhhhhhhhhh……
Good grief, you Houstonians.
When do they usually hit and how often within a season? I’m new to Florida.
Thanks.
ok i live in jacksonville fl and fay is supposed to be hitting us today and i keep watching the weather channel and i don’tt mind thunder, lighting, rain, poweroutagess but i keep see reports about tornadoes and the damage the storm has cause and they say they fay is gonna head off shore and it might strengthen and hit our area next. (lucky us.)i know that tornadoes come in many different forms like rain wraps, water spouts, etct ect. ive been amazingly terrified of tornadoes ever since i heard that they can kill people. as of right now the sky is already dark and its only 11 30 in the morning. . if there is a tornado in my area then what kind should it be depending on the storm? and would it hit my house since i live on the west side(i kind of live near flat land)?I’m sooooo terrified i dont want to die i dont want to lose my house im just starting out my high school year and i dont wanna lose my high school oppurtunities!! and if a tornado is heading my way how should i prepare????a and how do i calm my nerveesss????? im sooo terried! and what kind of tornado would it be? F1? F2? thanks.
Some storm chasers in South Dakota panic when they realize they’re too close to an approaching tornado.
