the dog has a shelter
he wont wear doggy clothes
and he tears up bedding so putting a blanket down wouldnt make sense
wow mean answers for such a simple quesiton…not much help but thanks people
its always been an outside dog
ALWAYS
and he isnt wet
we live in florida…..its just going to get down to the 40’s tomorrow night
oh and no garage
dog gets too hyper inside the house
so he has to stay outside
boyfriends mom wont let the dog live inside..like milk and coffee said…he is a bull in a china shop
when we get a place of our own, i told my boyfriend i want to train him to be calm inside.

which we will do
the dog house is on the porch, way above the ground and away from the wind so he will be fine. my boyfriend will bring him inside his room if he feels he is getting to cold.

thanks for the help

Is it really important to have all windows and doors closed when there is a hurricane? What happens if:
1-all windows are open?
2-windows and door are open?
3-door is open, windows closed?
4-one window is open?
5-one window and door are open?

Sorry, I’m just really curious! Thanks

Heyy, I’m new to Florida. We just moved here last year. Our first hurricane is on its way. I just got a rescue dog a few weeks ago and he wont "go potty" on command yet (i dont know if he ever will, but it would really be nice) and he hates going in our yard… How is he supposed to go to the bathroom in a hurricane? How do you do it with your pets? Do you take them outside (eek) or do you figure out a way to make them go somewhere special in the house?

Also, our neighbors are already putting up window shutters! we’re on southwest florida.. 10 minutes from the beach. Should we already be putting up shutters when it’s not expected until Tuesday morning? Better safe than sorry?
any suggestions on a hurricane kit for us to pick up tomorrow - i know this is supposed to be a baby hurricane, but I’d rather be prepared. Thanks :-)

In what direction would the shift in labor supply and demand go?
What would be its effect on the equilibrium of the labor market?

I am taking a course in economics and I truly need help in understanding the shift matter. Thank you in advance.

I’m doing a summer Assignment for AP World. I know what a cyclone is scientifically…like in weather terms, but that can’t be what my teacher ment, because its a chart where I have to fill in Definitions/Descriptions of locations and geographic terms such as the Amazon River and what is a continent. So I’m up to cyclone but I have no idea what to write!

Please help!

Thanks. :) I did google it wise guy. That’s why I’m asking on here. I searched it for awhile but Im not sure what my teacher wants me to use.

Does anyone happen to know what a person needs to do to become an "official" fund raiser for hurricane disaster relief — or, if one needs to be an official anything at all to do this, *or* where I can go to find some straight answers?

My website’s just full of socially-aware adults — I’d say, about a million of us. Our community is well-established, it’s just that we aren’t a corporation, or anything "legal", yet…

With these hurricanes, enough is enough! I just *know* we can help… but I’m running in circles trying to research this.

I’d be very grateful for some real help… people are in dire and serious need, here — this is nonsense! It shouldn’t be this difficult to help.

Thanks for reading. :)

Anyone know what home designs - other than bunkers - work best for getting through hurricane season with little or no damage?

There was a thread about the study earlier, but so much misinformation was being spread that I had to make some corrections.

Here is the link to the study: ftp://texmex.mit.edu/pub/emanuel/PAPERS/Emanuel_etal_2008.pdf

Now for the main conclusion:
"A new technique for deriving hurricane climatologies from global data, applied to climate
models, indicates that global warming should reduce the global frequency of hurricanes,
though their intensity may increase in some locations."

Says that there should be a reduction in overall frequency and intensity *may* increase in *some* places.

In the summary:
"This suggests either that the greater part of the large global increase in power dissipation over the past 27 yr cannot be ascribed to global warming, or that there is some systematic deficiency in our technique or in global models that leads to the under-prediction of the response of tropical cyclones to global warming."
That last quote essentially means that the increase in power dissipation over the last 30 years is not related to global warming or else current models are useless.

For the record, I think that this means that there is still much to learn–so many uncertainties. Current models don’t mean much in my book.
Tuba in the Rose said:
"This is a good example of a scientist finding a flaw in his earlier work and asking his peers to help him find and correct the error. It doesn’t prove or disprove anything.

If you want to track and critique his every word while he works on the problem, like paparazzi chasing Britany Spears, go ahead."

If all Emanuel wanted was help from his peers, it is not necessary to write that up in a study. This paper was an explanation of a new technique for predicting long term hurricane trends, and it is conflicting with earlier models (the new technique was meant to better match observations).

I never proposed that this work "proves" or "disproves" anything–I was merely pointing out his real conclusions, which aren’t that dramatic. Hardly sounds like "paparazzi." Your response to this thread seems odd, Tuba. Do you not wish to hear Emanuel’s conclusion?

As I pointed out above: this study means that there is still much work to be done.

An apartment complex is being built right outside my window in a small town in northern Arizona. After leveling the ground and placing markers, they poured cement bases for each building. Then, they put up wood frameworks. Now there seems to be a bluish white color that was applied to what I assume is the basic wall structure with the building still in a skeleton phase. I’m really curious about the building process and how strong the buildings will be. Although I’m not in either an earthquake or hurricane center, I’m wondering if the buildings would stand if one of those came along. Also: How do they make the wooden framework stick to the cement base? What is the bluish white substance on the first layer of wall?

Are you planning on leaving?

I’ve heard people say that dogs usually have their puppies at night. Is that true? And also, is it true that dogs will often-times deliver if a storm arises? Anyone ever experience this?
And no, I’m not a backyard breeder or anything like that. I just started volunteering at an animal shelter where we currently have several pregnant dogs who are due any day now, and it just so happens we are expecting storms tonight.

So, everyone in the path of a hurricane is, again, boarding up their windows with plywood sheets.

Here’s the question:

Why did we stop building houses with real, working shutters? Wouldn’t that be more efficient, faster, and cheaper?

is that strange? I don’t live in a place where they are common (Massachusetts) so I have never seen one, but I love looking at photos of them and watching weather show about them. When we do have tornadic weather I get scared out of my mind, but I still just find tornadoes factinating!!

Anyone else find them facinating??
I’d never wan to be a storm chaser, but I love watching shows and movies about it. Weather certainly IS amazing.

ABC 33/40’s look at the horrible F5 tornado that killed 32 people in Birmingham on April 8, 1998. Produced and edited by Bill Castle.

I have been looking around in answers for sound deadening windows. Windows that cut noise pollution and also have hurricane resistance. I found this one company and I am hearing nothing but good things about them on the net!

http://www.soundguardwindowsanddoors.com

Anyone have soundproof windows or doors from them installed. The prices seem awesome!

Thanks for the help!

I have to propose a bill in her character based on her likes and I know that she is interested in things that have to do with water safety and hurricanes. Are there any ideas for a good bill to pass?

When food, fuel, power are scarce and expensive. When the sea water will rise between 7 to 43 meter. When hurricane, tornadoes, flood and drought will increase in intensity and reduce our habitat and food supply to a dangerous level. When population increase to 9 Billion. What do we need to do? and Would we able to do something about it or it is no longer humanly possible to correct? Read Luke 21 about the sign of the coming of the Creator for Overhaul job of the earth.

Katrinas Angels.org and Operation Love Thy Neighbor.net are actively assisting in this disaster area. Both organizations are non profit organizations. This means that funds/disaster aid can be distributed quickly to the people in need.

Does anyone reading this know of any other nonprofit organizations helping in the area?

Hi, i have to do a project on my school, i have chosen the subject of hurricane data over the last 200 years, i have learned that that is linked to decadal oscillations.
my quseiton is

How are decadal oscillations affecting global warming? i had questioned? is it the warm air that is evaporated and the warmth is still in the atmosphere?
can you help me

10points: answer my question and give me some information and CITE YOUR SOURCES WITH WEBISTES OR I WILL NOT BELIEVE YOU

f5 tornado damage severe weather tornadotexasus

well, you all know that hurricane hannah(montana) is heading for the east coast, they are predicting 80 mph winds, strong rain, tropical storm warning, and flood watch, and possible tornado warnings….. yea , i know, right, its crazy. what should i do?

I’ve done some map research on the National Hurricane Center’s website and it looks like historically hurricanes don’t hit Montego Bay in September. Is this accurate, or am I reading the map wrong? I’ll be arriving there for my honeymoon in exactly 3 weeks and I’m trying to get some peace of mind :)

I’ve looked on lots of websites but it’s pretty confusing to find the forecast section for hurricanes so detailed instructions would be nice!
Also, is it dangerous to be there during a hurricane?

What makes us have weather? Where does it all start? You know, like rain, cyclones, etc.
Scientific answers please, I have a science test tomorrow, and I need help. Dont worry, im not cheating, my teacher just told m to get the answer for some questions and I cant figure out this one. So please, science only! Thnk u
