NASA has already identified these systems as being able to provide many times the global needs for energy production by using space based solar concentrators. So why are we still using fossil fuels?

If we used fossil fuels JUST for producing products (asphalt, antifreeze, plastics, …) then we would have a supply that would last a thousand years and more. However, by using fossil fuels as fuel, we have less than a 100 year supply while producing enormous amounts of pollution.

Also, the mechanism by which solar concentrators work, is the same mechanism by which global weather can be controlled. (dissipating hurricanes, dissipating tornados, eliminating droughts, providing predictable rainfall, eliminating extreme temperatures, rebuilding glaciers and the artic ice pack, ….)

How do we influence politicians to actively create a system?

This link above lists the total US hurricanes starting in 1881- Present. There is ABSOLUTELY no correlation between this data and global "climate change." Global temperatures are "increasing" and yet the hurricane frequency seems to be random at best.

For instance between 1881- 1890 there were 10 MAJOR (category 3,4,5) hurricanes, while 2001-2004 saw only 3.

So how can hurricanes be increasing due to global warming if neither hurricane frequency nor hurricane power are increasing?

I asked you for a copy of the appraisal back in May and you NEVER answered my email. If you would have answered my email back in May, I wouldn’t have asked Mr. Michael Anthony of the title agency, and Mr. Anthony wouldn’t have told me that you did owe me a copy of the appraisal, and I wouldn’t have had to ask you again. So thank you for being prompt and professional by answering my email 2 months after I originally asked you.

It looks like (yet again) that we are back at square one. Suntrust Mortgage has created yet another big problem for us. We are requesting the 15.15 (which is the remaining portion of the ,000.00) to pay the contractor’s bills for work/s they have completed and to also obtain their releases to obtain the “CO” from Hillsborough County. Be aware that I do not have the exact amounts for the contractor’s bills. If you want that information, please call Mr. Chris Braglin from Braglin Builders INC. at 813-695-0685. Again, I do not know the exact amounts for the contractor’s bills, so don’t ask me because you already have my answer.

These are the contactor’s that I am aware of that need payment:

1)Sal Electric: Electrical contractor that has performed the electrical work for our house.

2)A/C Contractor: A/C contractor that has performed the A/C work for our house.

3)Euro-Shutters: Hurricane shutter contractor that has performed the work for our house.

4)TECO: Local electrical power supply company. A certain amount must be paid before they do the final connection/meter installation to the house.

5)Hillsborough County Government: They require a certain amount of money to be paid for “Impact Fees” and/or etc… before they provide and/or release the “CO”.

6)Landscaping: Hillsborough County Government requires a certain amount of trees, grass, driveway and/or etc… before they provide and or release the “CO”.

7)Others: If any you can obtain those from builder.

Before we started the process/hassle to request the ,000.00, we had an ending balance of ,766.03 (according to Ms. Irene Hooper office meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00AM EST) bringing our total to ,766.03. Your company led us to believe that we were going to receive the ,000.00 that we had requested, and maintain the balance of ,773.03. If you, or someone else in your company, would have followed their legal obligation of informing us that we would only receive ,584.85 (0.506%), and you and your company would be holding the remaining ,415.15 (0.493%), we would have most definitely went another route. I don’t understand how you and your company, fully knowing that we were approximately ,000 short of finishing the construction of our home, let us apply for the ,000 we need to finish our house, only to give us half and leave us in the exact same position (if not worse) then we were in before we applied for the increase. We feel that your company intentionally tricked us. We do not like this situation at all and it doesn’t look like it’s going to end favorable. Like we have said before, and like we are saying again now, we do not have the money to pay out and wait for you and your company to reimburse us.

On top of those fiascos, you and your company want inspection after inspection after inspection after each “penny” draw for 0 a pop! We already don’t have the money to pay the electricians, the euro-shutter guys, the a/c guys, TECO, Hillsborough County, and all the landscaping things the county requires to obtain the “CO”, and you and your company wants to make the situation worse by charging us 0 for each “penny” draw? All of these inconveniences are going to cause my builder to pass the extension date of August 1st and then we will have to pay you and your company another 0 to receive another extension. Like you and your company aren’t making enough money off the interest we are paying on the mortgage! You and your company LOANED us the money for the house and most of these delays/problems we have been having were cause by you and your company changing our contract managers every couple of months. It’s become pretty clear that you and your company orchestrated these events to keep on fucking us.

We aren’t going to suggest anything. Tell us what you and your company is going to do (or not do) to solve this mess, since no matter what we try to do to get things going and get our house finished, you and your company finds another way to fuck us. Like the interest we pay isn’t a fucking enough in itself…

Having to survive all of mother nature’s wrath? Blizzards, thunderstorms, hot scorching weather of 100s of degrees, hungry predators. All the mean while trying to stay alive.

You know that accidents happen & they have happened before. Remember Chernobyl? We have better technology but still faulty. Did you know in 1996 a leak happened in Japan and was covered up and another big leak in 2002? Japan is 1 in technology in the world and they had leaks? Plants aren’t invincible. Three Mile Island was contained fortunately but still could have led to a deadly meltdown. Humans as well as machines are imperfect and accidents happen at these places more than you realize. In March, 2006, safety reviews found that several nuclear plants in the United States have been leaking water contaminated with tritium into the ground. 20 plants in the US REQUESTED potassium iodide so obviously they know that an accident may happen someday. Plants regularly release nice amounts of radiation into the air daily. The media ignores this.

Do you really want a Chernobyl to happen here? About 6 million people were affected 270,000 cancers and 93,000 fatal cancer, deformed babies exist. The risk exists. If one nuclear plant is attacked, plane crash, tornado, earthquake, full power failure, sabotage, or bombed the safety structures in place could fail coolant could leak, a water tower cooler that has been blown up can’t cool a reactor can it? The nuclear power production process can’t just be shut down in a minute with the push of a button. You probably thought it could didn’t you?

Nuclear energy is expensive, billions of dollars are spent on them, and the radioactive waste doesn’t disappear, the spent fuel must be stored somewhere. This highly toxic waste will take over a million years to become safe for living things! So are we to keep using it and making waste until we are knee high in radioactive fluid? Sure enough people will start to dump in your town secretly. So do you think that nuclear power is still the cleanest safest kind? I don’t consider the ability to destroy millions of lives with one crazy suicide bomber or pipe line break safe; nor a mass of waste that takes toxic enough to destroy all life on the planet clean. Nuclear waste is expensive, extremely hazardous, and the most unsafe source of energy man can have. Before you say anything, research it for yourself. Would you want a nuclear power plant next to your neighborhood? What do you have to say about all this? God didn’t save the victims of Chernobyl so why would he save any of you now?

A hurricane destroys most of the fishing boats on the Macro Islands but leaves the lobster traps untouched. Boats are not needed to collect the trapped lobsters. People enjoy eating fresh fish with tartar sauce and lobster with drawn butter equally. Explain the effect of the hurricane on the demand and supply for drawn butter.

I was In Broward County and this hurricane hit and left the lower half of Florida without power for about 2 weeks. It was right before Katrina or the one after it? I just can’t remember anymore..

we are under a tornado watch, but appear to be clear of thunderstorms. Is it possible to have a tornado without actually having a thunderstorm or rain clouds? Can tornados form out of regular old clouds due to wind sheer from a tropical system?

My class is doing a project where we are given an environment and have to build a shelter, food supply, etc to support ourselves. Part of my environment is that we live in extremely cold temperatures, and I was wondering if we would be warmer if we built a house below ground. Can someone help me out?

I have a house that has hurricane shutters. It is typical South Florida concrete block (breeze block) construction.
The screws used to attach the shutters were not steel and were not sealed when put in so they are both rusting and leaking water to the inside of the wall. So not only am I getting mildew in my walls but I have a feeling the shutter will just rip off when we get a good bit of wind.

I want to remove each screw, put sealant in the hole and replace the screw with a steel one.

My questions are
1) If I use the same size steel screw can I just take out the rusty screw and replace it with steel or will the hole in the concrete block be too deteriorated to use a second time ?
2) If the head of a screw breaks off (some are really rusty !) how would I get it out of the wall ?
I should clarify that there were no anchors used. The screws appear to be straight into the block.
