2010 hurricane season?
Is anybody worried about this years hurricane season? Possibly up to 23 hurricanes? It worrys me because it gives the whole gulf coast a greater risk of getting hit by a hurricane. It’s crazy. Ive been thinking about buying hurricane supplies now to be better prepared. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I wasen’t prepared for Gustav at all and wasent too worried as it was a landfalling category 2. It ended up being the worst storm to ever hit Baton Rouge and I lost most of my roof in that storm, Along with my bathroom window and the pine trees in my yard. Should I start preparing now for possible storms this year? What are yall doing?

Yes i would take some precautions now. Make sure you always have enough plywood to cover all of your windows & fasteners. Before there is a rush and they are sold out. Have your escape route planned. Have a plan to move your belongings away in a van or at least to a higher level in your house. BE PREPARED!!!! This Hurrican season will be very active 80% possibility.
Better safe than sorry, but I am a worrier. I live in VA and generally don’t worry about hurricanes. But they will sell out of stuff, right? Buy a little each week and then you’ll be as ready as you can be. Between the oil spill and the up and coming hurricane season , you might want to consider moving but no where is totally safe any more.
They are not predicting 23 hurricanes. It is expected to be an above average season with 14 to 23 named systems, which includes tropical storms.
Yes, you should prepare as regardless of what the actual number of storms turns out to be, it only takes one moving across you to be a problem.
I think you should be prepared since you are in a hurricane prone area. Its good to get ready now even though you probably wont even be at risk until july and august and september are the real worry months. Im not really prepared here in NYC but believe it or not we are prone to hurricanes here too. Its been a long time since we got hit by a hurricane (and over 75 years since a major hurricane hit), but we are overdue and this season might be the one to worry about. It never hurts to be prepared and anyone on the gulf coast or on the atlantic coast from cape cod south in the US should be prepared.
I live about 45 miles from the fl panhandle.. Ive already started buying canned foods, water, bread.. Cause if a hurricane does happen to form in the "hot" florida gulf. Its not gonna be good.
