recently , More than 200 people have died and hundreds of thousands have been displaced from their homes due to flooding in and around metropolitan manila in the philiines.
The tropical storm Ondoy , was dropping a month’s worth of rain in just 12 hours and have affected a quarter of metropolitan Manila , as well as some 24 provinces around the country . The government of the philippines suggested the 1.8 million people affected by the storm and subsequent flooding .
Like usual floods, dirty water from flood is all over there which can cause several serious diseases for especially children . poor people in the area damaged the worst and they
try to rebuild and clean up with the very little they have . All the garbage came down the river and was dumped into trees , and on top of houses .
So what should we do exactly ?
as I said , everything is destroyed and these people have lost everything . The lack of safe water is a major health concern and could lead to disease .But there is what you
can do for this really simply . think about donating to the UNICEF . now UNICEF is closely involved in delivering relief to displaced families , including hygiene kits , essential medicines , water purification tablets ,portable toilets , and family kits containing blankets and soap . and you can get involved through donation. It’s emergency . All they need is help , not just concerning or watching tv . You may wonder how to donate to the UNICEF , Just go to the website www.unicef.org and push the donate button .
It’s easy and simple but you can save poor children and family who is suffering from floods . thank you .
I think the part ‘ why do we have to donate for philippines ‘ is too weak . I even don’t know why ..
because philippines are poor country ? help me ..

In what continues to be a bad 3 months for Global Warmers starting with the email gate.

The study published last year in Nature Geoscience predicted sea levels would rise by between seven and 82 centimeters by the end of the century. Now The Guardian reports the scientists involved in the study say there are two separate technical mistakes in their research that led them to realize, "we no longer have confidence in our projections." A formal retraction was required, rather than a correction, because the errors undermined the study’s conclusion. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2010/feb/21/sea-level-geoscience-retract-siddall

IPCC report has had one embarrassing revelation after another of how unscientific the report is and how flawed the scientific claims are.

First emails were hacked that revealed the conspiracy to cook data and keep it from peer review.

The data taken also revealed that the Russian weather data had been cooked to remove colder weather stations and making it appear 1/2 degree warmer

The Chinese data has 42 weather stations locations missing which could be in heat islands called cities

Alaska the glacier melt overstated by 40%

The Global Warming data for the USA uses 6,000 weather stations for 1961 but then pared down to 1,500 by 1991 with the vast majority of those removed from the calculation being from colder regions.

The Claim Rain Forest effected by small rainfall changes was WITHDRAWN after the source was revealed to be 2 green peace activist with no scientific background and had used NO RAINFALL DATA.

The Himalayan Glacier melting by 2035 WITHDRAWN after it was revealed that the sources were a Student’s essay and a 2002 magazine article.

The reports says 55% of Netherlands will disappear as it is under sea level when in fact only 20% of the Netherlands are under sea level

Stronger Hurricanes to occur - WITHDRAWN - based on ONE year 2005.

The IPCC report is falling apart by the day and then you have former Global Warming Scientist Phil Jones coming out and admitting THERE WAS NO WARMING IN THE PAST 15 YEARS - NO SIGNIFICANT MEASURABLE - MEANS NONE

He also went on to admit that the HOCKEY STICK graph used to prove MAN MADE Global Warming LEFT OUT THE WARMER MEDIEVAL ERA. THAT BLOWS UP THE WHOLE MAN MADE CLAIMS.

HAVE YOU HEARD ANY OF THIS IN THE MAIN STREAM MEDIA???

Residents and business owners in Bridgeport are dealing with a massive cleanup effort after a tornado ripped through the city on Thursday.

I live on the gulf coast. Almost all the houses in town (including mine) have decorative fake shutters instead of real ones. Wouldn’t it be a heck of a lot easier to have real shutters and just close them when a hurricane blows into town instead of going out and nailing plywood over the windows? What am I missing here?

I understand that the Weather Service uses two types of alerts: Watches and Warnings.
Watch - conditions are favorable, and a tornado might happen today.
Warning - Seek shelter NOW!

15-20 years ago, a tornado warning meant "there’s a tornado on the ground, seek shelter NOW"
Today, it’s "there’s a thunderstorm spinning overhead. It might produce a tornado, but it often doesn’t".

To me, that shows a need for a third level of alert.

Watch - Don’t plan on spending the day outside.
(whatever the new term is) - Spinning thunderstorm in the area.
Warning - Seek shelter NOW! - Tornado on the ground.

I am going to live with my dad soon for about 6 weeks. He lives right on the coast of southern North Carolina (3 minute walk from the ocean). I am a bit worried about what would happen in the case of a hurricane. What can I do to be prepared? I know that my dad and stepmom have the basics like food/water and emergency supplies or whatever but what can I do? I am 17, almost 18 by the way and I will have my own car there. Also, what happens in the case of a hurricane evacuation? Advice from someone who has experienced it? Thanks for your help!

Me and my friend have been looking it up for the past hour and some websites say 4 and some say 5 we really don’t know.

Emergency Evacuation plans for PETS are often over looked, some are not aware that local emergency shelters do NOT allow pets durring a hurrican, tornados, earthquakes.
Whether you live on a coastline with hurricane threats, an area that have only occasional tornadors or several tornados to the earth quake zones..Do you have an emergency plan and how detailed is the plan and who else is aware that you have the plan in place for the family pets from mice, cats, dogs, horses…etc
Here are a few links in case no one has any plan and i encourage all to create that plan. For those that have a plan please list the type of plan for the pets and what emergencies are near your areas.
Remember if you are sending them to a kennel that the facility is far enough away from the danger zone. also that they are well labeled even better than tags in this situation is the micro chip.

Contact your veterinarian or local humane society for information on preparing your pets for an emergency. •Make sure that your pets are current on their vaccinations. Pet shelters may require proof of vaccines.
•Have a current photograph
•Keep a collar with identification on your pet and have a leash on hand to control your pet.
•Have a properly-sized pet carrier for each animal - carriers should be large enough for the animal to stand and turn around.
•Plan your evacuation strategy and don’t forget your pet! Specialized pet shelters, animal control shelters, veterinary clinics and friends and relatives out of harm’s way are ALL potential refuges for your pet during a disaster.

DURING THE DISASTER

•Animals brought to a pet shelter are required to have: Proper identification collar and rabies tag, proper identification on all belongings, a carrier or cage, a leash, an ample supply of food, water and food bowls, any necessary medications, specific care instructions and news papers or trash bags for clean-up.
•Bring pets indoor well in advance of a storm - reassure them and remain calm.
•Pet shelters will be filled on first come, first served basis. Call ahead and determine availability.
In planning for the hurricane season, do not forget your pets. If an evacuation is necessary, the Humane Society of the United States urges pet owners to make arrangements to evacuate their animals as well. Official shelters do not allow pets. In the event of evacuation, make alternative arrangements for pets, such as with family friends, veterinarians, or kennels in safe locations.
The following are suggested preparedness procedures for pets, prior to an evacuation:
•Be prepared to take your pets with you. Companion animals depend on us for their survival, much as children do. It could be days or possibly weeks before you are able to return home possibly causing the death of your pet by starvation or dehydration.
•Identify your pet. Securely fasten a current identification tag to your pet’s collar. If you face evacuation, it is a good idea to attach to the collar the phone number of a friend or family member who is well out of disaster range. That way, anyone who finds your pet will be able to reach a person who knows how to contact you.
•Be sure your pet’s rabies and other vaccinations are current. Boarding kennels will require proof of these vaccinations before accepting your pet.
•Photograph your pet. Carry a photo of your pet for identification purposes.
•Transport your pet safely. Use secure pet carriers and keep your pet on a leash or in a harness.
•Find a pet-friendly hotel. Because most emergency shelters do not admit pets, call hotels in a safe location and ask if you can bring your pet. If the hotel has a no-pets policy, ask the manager if the hotel can waive the policy during the disaster.
•Foster your pet. If you and your pet cannot stay together, call friends, family members, veterinarians, or boarding kennels in a safe area to arrange safe foster care.
•Have supplies on hand. Be sure to pack a week’s worth of food, water, medication, cat litter, or any other supplies your pet needs on a regular basis.
•Plan your evacuation and leave in plenty of time. Do not wait until the last minute to evacuate. When rescue officials come to your door, they may not allow you to take your pets with you.
•Remember emergency responders are trained and required to save human lives, not animals. They may be taking physical and legal risks if they stop to help your animals.
•Carry a list of emergency telephone numbers with you. This should include your veterinarian, local animal control, local animal shelters, the Red Cross, and any other individual or group you might need to contact during the disaster.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Jamaica in July…I was told that was during hurricane season but the person who told me that could recall when it started and ended. Help us out please?
of course either way we are getting travel insurance.
My husband’s not going to be here after July so we’re trying to go then. :( If I could change it I would.

Throughout my life, I’ve had a dozen or more so-called psychic premonitions and all have come true with no failures. These premonitions happen spontaneously and I have never been able to cause them to happen, nor to avoid them from happening. None of these instances have been night dreams and all happen while I am awake.

On about April 29, which was still several days prior to any officially announced plans for remedial action to secure the leaking oil well in the Gulf of Mexico, I had a premonition in which something would be done to attempt fixing the problem, but that it would fail. This premonition involved a further prediction that something else would subsequently go wrong and would cause more oil than ever to begin flowing out of the well. On May 2 and May 4, respectively, I posted these predictions to my personal blog site.

Everything I’ve predicted thus far has come true, from the initial failed attempt at utilizing the 100-ton dome assembly, then to the failed attempt with the so-called Top Hat assembly. Next there was the problem where they inaccurately cut off the top of the well’s riser pipe with a pair of giant scissors due to a problem with the original saw blade getting stuck that was supposed to saw the pipe off in a clean cut; and it was that problem which invariably caused more oil than ever to start leaking out. Then there was the recent problem with the robot that crashed into the riser pipe, thus prompting British Petroleum (BP) to remove the makeshift cap assembly for about a day.

Now the most current problem is where Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen has announced a full cease and desist order of oil recovery efforts due to concerns for a tropical storm depression in the Gulf Sea that might threaten the ships and crew. According to Admiral Allen, he has suggested that a worst-case scenario would be a 2-week delay in the recovery operation.

However, I am personally not so sure that a maximum 2-week delay is going to be the worst case scenario into the future. For one thing, I have had yet another recent psychic premonition suggesting that something more serious is going to happen that will end up prompting Admiral Thad Allen to later announce any further oil cleanup and recovery efforts will be delayed for perhaps upwards of six (6) months or more; and this ideal would include a future situation involving either generally or specifically insurmountable problems that will prevent the successful drilling of a suggested relief well operation to be completed anytime soon.

With that said, I am going on record here with my perfect, lifelong history of never having been mistaken with any of my psychic predictions by effectively stating that none of these ongoing efforts at securing the leaking oil well are going to be successful at least into the foreseeable future. Mark my words, because although I have personal faith in my own predictions, I know that you do not have the same faith.

Beyond that, it was recently announced where the Obama Administration had refused assistance from Belgian, Dutch and Norwegian firms that possess some the world’s most advanced oil-skimming ships. The reason for the refusal on the part of the Obama Administration was stated as being due to the 1920s United States federal law known as the Jones’ Act, which amounts to protectionist legislation aimed at protecting union labor jobs in the United States.

Provisions of the Jones’ Act law apparently allow for a waiver to be applied in the case of national emergency situations; and the law was favorably waived by President George Bush following the Hurricane Katrina disaster. But President Obama is suggested as being the first president in U.S. history to not waive the law under such ideal of either generally or specifically conceived national emergency conditions that tend to currently exist in view of the ongoing oil spill in the Gulf sea region.

Apart from the above citation, there are really far too many apparent anomalies and inconsistencies surrounding the ongoing problem of this oil leakage disaster to fully explain them all here, which range from the observed missing safeguard device – known as an acoustic shutoff valve – on the Deep Water Horizon oil drilling platform, to the fact that U.S. government officials in charge of the federal Minerals Management Service (MMS) were said to have been accepting payoffs – or bribes otherwise – from the British Petroleum Company.

However, the simple question here would be to the effect that if it can be reasonably suggested where all of these delays, mechanical problems, government corruption maneuvers, various lies and a lack of cooperative efforts coming from BP, including a very strange refusal on the part of the Obama Administration to accept foreign help in the cleanup operation, could actually amount to ploys that are systematically being set in place to allow the problem of the ongoing oil spillage to become worse and worse, the
– then the next logical question would have to be:

Was the oil spill committed on purpose?

What do you think? Do you foresee any likelihood of mass FEMA concentration camps for domestic refugees of the oil spill being set up all over the United States following evacuation attempts of a broad swath of the east coast region (see YouTube for videos about such considerations) after the region ultimately becomes polluted with oil contamination to the point of becoming unsafe and even let

To the first responder here, yes, the form of proof is through the above-noted postings I had made to my personal blog on May 2 and May 4, which is through the Blogger.com blogging platform. Users of the platform are unable to alter or manipulate in any way the posting dates of materials. Also, an element of the generated URL for each posting made actually incorporates the month and year portion of the date; however noting that the day portion of the date shown in the posting itself still cannot be altered in any way by users of the system.

The only tapestry of stories filmed LIVE as it was and STILL IS happening. It covers in tragic, emotional, and honest detail - everyday of the storm from DAY ONE to TODAY. ——————— THIS PODCAST: Ride walks with Janice White of the Red Cross through the worst hit area of the 9th Ward. He asks, “Why is the section locked off?” She answers, “There’s too many dead bodies in these houses, and we also don’t know which ones may fall down on you.” She continues, “Maybe by December we can find the bodies and let residents in.” Then, Ride continues with the dedicated pet and animal rescue volunteers as they try to save a dog desperately trapped between houses that are collided together. It’s literally a maze of wood, nails, metal, and debris. The dog was spotted by boat weeks ago, and now as some land is beginning to dry, the pet rescue volunteers come back to try again to rescue this same dog. Alas, it is still trapped, and all they can do is leave food and water. ——————— ABOUT THE FILM MAKER: Ride Hamilton was the only photo-journalist to never evacuate - and stay living and participating in the New Orleans community throughout Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the electricity-less, water-less, and MRE, heat, and mosquito-filled months afterwards. Consider this scenario:

There is a major hurricane headed for your area. It is entirely likely that you could be without water for a week or more. You may be able to get a few gallons of water from relief supplies after the hurricane, but these would be for drinking water. The supplies may not arrive for many hours. Take into account your family’s daily water usage as determined in this activity, what steps would you take to ensure your family’s survival and comfort?

- Many quote the "consensus" among scientists, but consensus is not science, it is a vote. Science is reproducible results, and global warming predictions are subject to incredible scrutiny and refutations that cannot be responded to with data or analysis. Most global warming believers are not willing to admit that man-made global warming is a hypothesis that has not been proven anywhere.

Do you still believe in man-made Global Warming catastrophic predictions?

I know that this can vary greatly, but we are looking into a project house where about half the exterior wall is made up of windows, floor to ceiling-all of which have to be replaced (we live along the gulf coast, so this is a hurricane damaged property). It’s about 3100 sq ft, and I’d estimate that each section of window is about 10′ wide, 12′ high. Does anyone have an estimate of what this would cost to replace, if not the entire house than just any amount of wall?

Was the whole movie actually fake, like a dream? Or did he actually walk around the whole island and everything? Along with the hurricane being real….or was the whole hurricane and all that stuff fake??
If the hurricane really happened, why was the garden and yard in the very end green and perfect??

We are getting two horses and have the electric fence up. But… the lean-too is delayed. So, the horses will have to go without shelter for about two months. There are no big trees around, but we do have a lot of thick trees and brush by the fence. We don’t live in the really hot weather area, but we also don’t live in the really cold area either. Since it is april it is getting warmer. So, my question is, can they go without shelter from a lean-too for two months.

P.S. They will have coats on if it gets cold, ect…

Thanks! Any other options are good too as long as it doesn’t include a lot of money. We can’t do any thing else.
No stupid answers please.
Thanks!
EDIT: The horses we are looking at are out in the day and around 3pm they go in a stall. We are worried about them freaking out at night. The trees are kind of far from the fence line and doesn’t provide that much shelter. Please tell me your advice.

Is anybody worried about this years hurricane season? Possibly up to 23 hurricanes? It worrys me because it gives the whole gulf coast a greater risk of getting hit by a hurricane. It’s crazy. Ive been thinking about buying hurricane supplies now to be better prepared. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I wasen’t prepared for Gustav at all and wasent too worried as it was a landfalling category 2. It ended up being the worst storm to ever hit Baton Rouge and I lost most of my roof in that storm, Along with my bathroom window and the pine trees in my yard. Should I start preparing now for possible storms this year? What are yall doing?

Thoughts?
"The sinkhole is hundreds of feet deep"
"They" = officials giving the official story/explanation
Meg: I know about those too–some are even in the ocean floor! What if they are not natural either? How would you know?
The only difference in those other holes are in places in nature with few or no human witnesses –and where some supposed natural phenomenon occured. Not in the middle of a large city where people can talk about what they saw and heard.
Real sinkholes are not hundreds of feet deep, and involves dirt, water, and the ground above it–not hundreds of feet of solid rock with no evidence of water damage.

What do you think of this?

In the beginning, God created heaven and Earth, and he saw that it was good. So begins the Book of Genesis, the dramatic opener of the Old Testament.

But things went downhill from there.

God’s wrath seems at work these days, as the heavens and Earth have unleashed earthquakes in China, a cyclone in Burma, killer tornadoes and record floods across the U.S. and even a plague of locusts (cicadas) in New England.

In Cedar Rapids, Iowa today, floodwaters forced the evacuation of a downtown hospital after residents of more than 3,000 homes fled for higher ground. A railroad bridge collapsed, and 100 city blocks were underwater.

"We’re just kind of at God’s mercy right now, so hopefully people that never prayed before this, it might be a good time to start," Linn County Sheriff Don Zeller said this week as record floods hit the Midwest. "We’re going to need a lot of prayers and people are going to need a lot of patience and understanding."
Book of Revelation in the New Testament, the Earth suffers "Seven Plagues" — from disease to "intense heat" and drought, then finally a shower of deadly hailstones.

And then comes the Apocalypse, the final judgment of man and destruction of the world by fire.

Biblical imagery is all over the news these days even including a story last week of a New York baby being enwrapped by a snake in its crib, harking back to evil lurking in the Garden of Eden.

[There was a practical explanation: the non-poisonous snake had embedded itself in a mattress shipped by Toys 'R' Us from California.]

Most theologians and scientists don’t take seriously warnings that the end of the world is nigh. But many reputable scholars do lend some credence to the notion that the world is in for some kind of disaster, be it meteorological, ecological or geopolitical.

ABC News will air a dramatic two-hour broadcast in September, Earth 2100,
