Filmed near Lookeba, Oklahoma during the May 24, 2011 Oklahoma tornado outbreak, this extremely close-up video details incredibly violent, chaotic motion within the main vortex of this long-tracked tornado — something rarely captured on video.

I have a friend that has bought a gas station and they have had it for about 3 years now. They are having problems with the company that supplies them fuel. Here is what happened. During the hurricane the company called them and told them to lower there gas prices to .43gl while everybody in town was charging almost 4 dollars and told them not to sell any fuel. They did as they were told. Well several Entergy trucks ran out of gas and she decided to sell them gas. The owner of the Fuel company came and shut off the pumps and has not turned them on since. They have talked to another company and decided that they want to sell there fuel instead. Well they offered the current owner a very thoughtful price for the pumps and tanks, which is all older than 35 years. He then stated that they would have to buy the contract that was signed by the previous owners, that he said they signed when they bought the store. Which they asked him to bring a copy of the contract to let them look over and put eyes on this supposedly signature, he does not have proof of any of this. They even went to the courthouse and there is no contract present. He said if they bought the pumps and tanks they would still have to buy the contract. Can anybody point me in a direction or a law that has common ground with this problem?

Thanks..

Last year, a hurricane was experience by my family and me for the first time. It was Hurricane Ellen, and much damage to our property and neighborhood was caused by its fierce winds of 200 miles per hour and its heavy rains. The old oak tree in our backyard was uprooted and hurled across the roof of our house, creating a large hole thought which the rain poured in. Our living room was flooded by the water, which rose to a height of three feet. When we began to think that the worst of the storm was over, we heard a loud crash and looked out the window to see that our car had been hit by our neighbor’s fallen tree, caving in the roof and breaking all the windows. Having recently moved to the East Coast from North Dakorta, we thought that a hurricane was little more than a thunderstorm. Next time, when people in our area are advised to evacuate before a hurricane comes, I’m sure our family will be the first to leave.

I lost all my photos when my laptop broke, would it be the same for the people of Joplin?

I’m looking into hawaii for my honeymoon and want as much information as possible.

A F5 Tornado ripped through the center of Joplin, Mo. I was lucky enough to be able to volunteer with my fiance and friends. This is a small look at what Joplin looks like now. We didn’t get to see the worst spots as only search and rescue were allowed in.

The Army Corps of Engineers, rushing to meet President bush’s promise to protect New Orleans by the start of the 2006 hurricane season, installed defective flood-control pumps last year despite warnings from its own expert that the equipment would fail during a storm, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

The drainage-canal pumps were custom-designed and built under a .6 million contract awarded after competitive bidding to Moving Water Industries Corp. of Deerfield Beach, Fla. It was founded in 1926 and supplies flood-control and irrigation pumps all over the world.

MWI is owned by J. David Eller and his sons. Eller was once a business partner of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in a venture called Bush-El that marketed MWI pumps. And Eller has donated about 8,000 to politicians, the vast majority of it to the Republican Party, since 1996, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

sick of it yet?
You’re more worried about al gore than the billions of dollars the bush’s and their cronies havr stolen? You’re a bigger threat than any terrotist
I mean terrorist

I live in New Jersey. I am going to Orlando by car and I leave tomorrow and expect to arrive Saturday night or Sunday morning. I am staying for a week and going back by car. I just found out about Hurricane Bill, and I already packed will I still be able to go to Florida?

I work graveyard, and it just seems like my neighbors dog goes on for hours barking, because my neighbour is too big of a dumbass to realize that, if he’s not willing to share shelter on the inside then he shouldn’t own one to leave outside in bad weather when he’s gone at work I love animals, but why can’t freakin dogs conclude that "I’m wasting my energy and all this barking is getting me nowhere, and I might as well wait for my master to return because he couldn’t hear me anyway.

So I just got finished reading this article on the front page of CNN.com about the hurricane Katrina victims. FEMA gave away some million in supplies meant for the victims to other states and various government organizations including the military. Why is it that America, the world’s most powerful nation (at least, for now), cant even take care of its own people??
There are still just under 100 people living in TENTS under a bridge in New Orleans. Two years later!!
I’m just absolutely outraged at FEMA’s blatent disreguard for the victims of hurricane Katrina.
So please, someone, explain.
Here’s the article:

Part A - B-Roll video of Hurricane Katrina as the storm starts to hit the Lake Pontchartrain Levee in Kenner, LA. The winds from Katrina start to pick up and the water starts to rise as the hurricane pushes the water to the south side of Lake Pontchartrain and the water starts to rise into a parking lot and over the lake wall. Footage shots include tree’s blowing in the wind and a stop sign being torn apart by the winds of the hurricane. Video also includes footage of the Kenner, LA police out patrolling in the middle of the storm to secure the area around the Pontchartrain Center.

whats your stories?
i didnt evacuate either :( i got all my pets inside tho

This has been bugging me for quite a while now. Why is it that every photograph of a hurricane is taken by satellite, rather than from ground view? And how come people never see the actual funnel cloud? Is it too far away? Every time I google image search for a hurricane, I get either satellite photos of a cyclone or pictures of rain and wind blowing things away. No funnel cloud.

Does the actual funnel cloud reach land and cause damage like tornadoes do?

Could we still feel the impact here? Do hurricanes ‘make u-turns’ lol?
I’m new to FL…

Typically I am an over-planner. I worked really hard on my evacuation kit last year and I plan on adding/updating it this year. I have searched tons of sites and made notes on what to do and plan for. I was just wondering if anyone out there has any other helpful, been there done that, tips for hurricane evacuation plans?

I have a trunk packed with supplies (we have a dog and a cat) ready to be loaded in a car at a moments notice. It has a crank radio, some pet supplies, emergency information, preplanned routes and hotels that allow pets, some small things like battery powered candles, tools, ect.

I have various items through out the house marked with hurricane stickers so that anyone in the family can easily see that its marked and that it needs to be packed.

I have all of our photos scanned and saved to a drive along with important papers (contacts, insurance, health) in a fire proof/ water proof safe.

Do you have any other helpful tips?

Blondy came in Thursday evening with a nice cut on her leg. In the five years I’ve had her she has not been injured. My bf has had her since she was two, she is now 11, and she was treated like a cow, basically sprayed some furason on and let her go. Her cut does not look bad but I know from the swelling their is more than meets the eye. She let me cold hose it once, but won’t let me clean it and barely lets me put ointment on it. This was from the storms that rolled through, we had golf ball and quarter size hail, tornado warnings and swirling clouds, so I left them out. Do not lecture me on that my horse was the only one out years ago when tornadoes came through and the only one to survive when the barn collapsed. I have cleaned and taken care of countless counts on countless horses including a car accident victim. I know how to clean it but have never had a horse so wimpy. She won’t let me get near it now without her lashing out at me. If i try to cold hose she starts to rear, and lash out. It is getting dangerous for her and me. Any ideas? She is actually not lame at all, which is surprising given how swollen and hot it is.

Front view shows the swelling in her front right leg other is of the wound which really doens’t look like much but the top might me deep but I have no idea. Any ideas on cleaning a wound on a horse with no pain tolerance?
Its not infected, yet. She has let me clean it once and it was not there wednesday and there on thursday. It has not had time to get infected. I have been fighting with her cleaning it so i know its not infected yet but if she continues with her attitude it likely will get infected.

Hey, my boyfriend and I are going to Disney World ((Orlando, Florida)) in mid October. Is that a bad idea? Like will there be any hurricanes?
