Hamilton’s view of Katrina is loaded with small details. The film helps put you there. People were clearly in shock, tired, cold, hungry, scared and overwhelmed by the sheer mountain of trash which were once entire homes and communities.
Great background music.
Thanks
Hamilton’s documentary is well filmed, crisp and full of details. Filmed from a survivor’s perspective, this is an artfully balanced blend of news reporting and neighborly compassion.
I liked the film maker’s choice of background music.
If i hear those niggers sing “Life Is Over” one more time, im liable to lynch a moon cricket myself…..
“Day wount prepare fo nuthin’”
Did you have any preparation? How can anyone not be prepared at all for what MIGHT happen? Nobody knew it would be this bad but how can someone live in this region and not be prepared in any way shape or form?
Evacuated to Hammond , prepared , food Ice, Generator, etc. Most people who stayed also had prepared. and suffered just a little wind damage untill Levees broke water rose so fast all they could save was their lives. I Was NW of NOLA had to clear streets of trees with Chainsaws to get out, drove150 miles for Gas & Ice, etc. Power out for as long as it was and complete destruction of all services for miles around thats hard to prepare for.
Peggy, Metairie, LA
Alot of people had no means to be prepared - etc no vechicles,no money to leave,no place to stay outside the city,no contacts …….
bottom line all they could do was ride out the hurricane.
