He had gotten trapped in the garage of someone who went on vacation, so have your neighbors check their basements and outbuildings. Another one went missing for almost a week before he finally limped home -- he had gotten injured and had holed up somewhere until he felt better. And yes, something awful could have happened to your cat; that is one of the nasty things about a cat that goes outdoors. When I was a child lost a cat and found his remains many weeks later; he had been hit by a car and had crawled off to die. However, don't give up. You simply never know. Put a mental white light of protection around your cat to keep her safe and to help guide her home. Good luck. I know how distraught you are. Keep your chin up. I lost my cat for three weeks.
