Survivors of the 2011 tornado devastation in Alabama are helping victims of the latest outbreak of at least 10 tornadoes to hit the state, killing two people and destroying or badly damaging more than 460 homes. (Jan. 30)

Alabama is recovering from a round of tornadoes that killed two people and damaged hundreds of structures in the Birmingham area. (Jan. 24)

All flights are being diverted this morning from Lambert-Saint Louis international airport after an apparent tornado tore through the airport injuring several people. Maggie Crane reports.

On Monday afternoon, StormChasingVideo.com Weather Paparazzi Brandon Sullivan was near Tipton, OK where he caught this extraordinary tornado footage. In the start of the video it shows a wide shot of the storm and the tornado on a southward approach to the storm. Brandon zooms into a tight shot of the tornado while he and his chase partners follow the storm. The video then shows a medium to tight shot on a powerful tornado ripping across the ground. This footage shows a text book violent tornado. The footage continues as the tornado travels to the north with both with intense circulation as it traveled across the open country. At one point the large tornado becomes translucent allowing the inner circulation to become apparent. As the tornado moved to the north, it went into the Wichita Mountains in southwest Oklahoma. Brandon tried to keep up with the tornado and in the end of the footage it is from his a GoPro camera mounted on the hood of his truck with a wide angle point of view as he approached the large tornado. One person has been killed and twenty eight others injured as a powerful tornado hit the Russian far-eastern city of Blagoveshchensk on Sunday. According to the local emergency services, six people were taken to hospital where one of them subsequently died. The tornado was so powerful that it tore the roofs from houses, turned over vehicles, flattened trees and smashed windows in several buildings. Local authorities have introduced a state of emergency in the city, Itar-Tass news agency reports. 200 people and 50 vehicles are already involved in the cleaning operation. The National Weather Service says the western Iowa town of Mapleton was hit hard by a tornado Saturday night. There are no details about injuries yet. Mapleton is about 40 miles southeast of Sioux City, Iowa. (April 9)

At least two people have been killed and dozens more injured when a tornado tore through Auckland in New Zealand. Brandon Sampson and Jeremy Wilson for Holy Tornado went out on March 8 2010 on almost no setup at all and captured some nice footage of the Hammon Ok tornado as it stayed on the ground for ever it seemed. Briefly afterwards the same storm spawned another smaller twister that we also got great video of as it almost passed right over us had it stayed in contact with the ground!!!!
