I am looking for a dog for my family. I am hoping to find some kind of bear dog, border collie, or husky. I live in montana and on a Reservation. Where the weather stays cool and warm in the summer but in the winter its colder than othere states. So if any one out there is from montana and know of a pet shelter that has any of the dogs im looking for please Give Me A Answer.

The way I understand it, the tether law prohibits any dog from being tethered for more than 4 or 5 hours at any time. This seems unreasonable to me for two reasons. First, if someone is at work, then they are unable to leave their dog outside during the day, where it can go if it needs to. Second, there are people who have tethers on their dogs that are 15 feet long or so, adequate shelter, food and water. This seems better to me than having a dog locked up in a 4′x8′ kennel. Not allowing tethers at all doesn’t seem like it would solve the problem of irresponsible people who are still going to tether their dogs and not provide for them.
About the cars, I understand that people are not allowed to leave dogs in a car if it is either too hot or too cold. Too hot, I completely understand. But who determines what is too cold? My dogs are used to cold weather, and are better off in a sheltered car than out in the cold that they are completely used to. (I have high energy dogs).
As I pointed out, I am refering to people who tether their dogs outside, for example, while they are at work and then bring them inside when they get home. While I do understand what you are saying about the restraint without visual signs of it, the fact is it still allows a dog much more room to move around than being in a kennel. Some people are at work too long to leave their dogs inside. Obviously, a big yard in the country is ideal, but how many people in California have THAT luxury?

I have not spent much time in California, but I have never seen any weather that is cold enough to freeze a dog. I am from Nebraska, and it is rarely cold enough even here to freeze a dog that is used to cold weather.

I guess it all boils down to the fact that more and more restrictions seem to be placed on pet owners. The respnsible owners that are following the laws are not the problem. It is the ones that didn’t follow the laws before and aren’t going to now.

I live in Minnesota and I can’t imagine anybody without shelter surviving a 2 week stretch of 20 below weather, but they do and it baffles me. Homeless shelters can only take in so many people per night, so what do the unlucky ones do?

is a Hurricane, tropical cyclone a weather pattern

Hi
I have heard many different opinions on having doggies outside. Is it ok ( granted weather, shelter, environment of course). Do they grow up to be ok?
My doggie is an Australian shepherd lab mix, and we live in mild texas weather. She prefers to be outside and gets kind of frustrated inside. With all the opinions, i dont know what to do. She has training and play time everyday .

Wisconsin see most of its severe weather in May and June? How do you features like cyclones, fronts, and the jetstream make severe thunderstorms possible?

Basic shelter, for walls and a roof against the weather. At least to spend a night with dignity. Simple food. Scrambled eggs, pancakes, tang. It would return dignity to people. Solar heated shower would not cost a lot to run. This set up would not deter people from working, I am sure.

I am 55 yrs and always been socially conscious. Homelessness as a lifestyle did not exist in America until Reagan. The first wave were the mentally ill, released from care and unable to fend for themselves.

I am moving again. I am looking for a new apartment. What would be the best tornado shelter?
An older building with a basement that may not be up to current codes.
A newer buidling with tons of windows yet the lower level is made up of brick?(or it may just be a brick facade?)
A mall ten minutes away with a designated storm shelter yet in severe weather could take up to 25 minutes to get to.
A chain of department stores that are one level that have a concrete area that is 3 minutes in good weather and 6 minutes in bad.
A hospital tht is 2 minutes in good and 5 in bad. There is no basement in the last 2 or the apartments.
The apartments are not concrete and there is no storm shelter.
Which is the best solution?
I need some better suggestions I live in Kansas City, mo.I am open to any and all suggestions.
I know what makes a safe tornado shelter but only one of the above meets the critea and it is too far.
The walls needs to be concrete steels bars are best. Below ground is preferred and no windows.
I am sick of always picking apartments based upon this critea.
Does anyone know?

The vinyl will wear out from weather and bird poop. I am thinking of either sourcing or making some hard tops that I can store inside the camper….perhaps fiberglass material that would mold/fasten over the support bars on the ends of the camper. This would make the pop up a more rugged shelter in harsher weather conditions. I’m looking to save money. Any ideas?

Cold-core cyclones and cyclones that are not pushed by the jet stream and just stay there are victims of this weather effect.

I think "fujiwaras" means the storm tries to move but goes only in a very slow CCW motion…the whole cyclone……but the storm still stays there and does not go away without any significant push at all.

Our next door neighbours have a poodle cross boxer… Interesting mix but oh well!

It is a gorgeous dog… and I have just heard it barking outside. I am in the North-West of England, and as anyone living in England will know the weather is horrible tonight and as far as I can tell, the dog has no kennel. Isn’t this not just cruel but illegal to leave a dog outside with no shelter??

what about those old branches that has weathered the storm and sheltered us young twigs and balance the old tree? Couldn’t we just send our love along the vines to those far outstretch branches before the fall comes.
One Love, one family, don’t dis di roots, Bless up.

Imagine you are standing at a field looking south. This wind is blowing strongly at your back (so towards the south). Give this, what direction would the pressure gradient be pointing? Would you guess the cyclone is moving towards you or away from you, given what we’ve see from the general movement of weather at our latitude?

Home is where the heart is

There have been many changes in my life
New career, new friends, new life
But my home has always been there

Home is where memories are created
Memories of the Bianco family have been generated
In our home since 1956
My father’s confirmation party in the backyard
My communion party in the living room
My brothers first step in the TV room
My brother fell through the ceiling from the attic to my bedroom
My aunt drove the car through the garage door
My sister snuck out her second floor bedroom window
My brother threw a measuring cup at my head in the kitchen

Memories can be as happy as one jumping on the trampoline in the backyard
To as sad as Aunt Reny having a heart attack in the den

Home is about love and laughter
Home is where you spend time with family
To create bonds and friendships

My house is in Jersey but my home is wherever I choose to be
A house is a form of shelter that protects you from the weather
Home is where you can be yourself without worry
Home is where love grows and you change

My heart may be in New York but my home is in New Jersey.

I was very annoyed with our news channels. Everything is always the "Metro Area", when there is also life beyond. Anyway…..

I have 2 horses, both have full-winter coats. We live in the SE area of MN. They have a run-in shelter. The gelding gets very spooky when the wind really blows and so won’t use the shelter. I think he feels that he has to see everything he hears. The mare isn’t nearly as spooky as he is and will usually use the shelter. Anyway, the weather forecast said that our windchills were going to go "well below zero". I didn’t realize exactly what this meant. My gelding was very cold this morning and I had the mare separated due to a leg injury. My daughter and I put on their wind/rain sheets that are also rated as mid-weight.

My issue is….at what temperature and windchill does a horse with a full winter coat need more protection than what I have explained here? I’m abit annoyed with our newscasters because it seems they could have done a more complete job of weather warnings and affects for our horses.

Thank you for any additional knowledge.

Australia. If the winds starting turning from the ne to the nw what weather conditions are likely and what readings would you expect if a summertime cyclone was heading this way ( to northern nsw)

we are about to purchase a new home with seemingly no safe place to take shelter. We have ALOT of tornados and bad weather around here and I was just wondering if anyone had one and how much it cost. (we live in central AL)

What are some good car covering products that will coat and protect the car’s paint and body from rust, elements, weather, sun, "wear and tear , besides just wax"? Is "Armor all" pretty good or are there better things for this purpose? What have you found that works on your car the best? Thanks for any suggestions. We have no garage and 4 vehicles that set out in the sun, ocean mist in the morning. They are all old, but would like to keep them from rusting or peeling their paint.

Cyclone Larry (Queensland, Australia –2006–) …

|||| What are the meteorological reasons for the disaster?

|||| What weather patterns contributed to the disaster ?

|||| Were there any special cloud formations?

|||| How were convection currents involved?

|||| How does the structure of the earth relate to this disaster?

Thankyou!

I read about a tribe of people who lived on the east coast of Argentina (I think) The area had the same weather as Boston. They lived without clothes or shelter. I think they ate mostly fish. Then they had some contact with the Christians, who clothed them and taught them to build shelters. They then got sick and got all kinds of skin diseases. They isolated themselves but went back and forth between the new and old ways with varying success. At the height of this culture there were about 40,000 of these unique people. I can’t find the reference to them.

It seems to me that if our scientists had studied god’s weather powers rather than meaningless evolutionary processes, we could have prayed the cyclone away.

Having to survive all of mother nature’s wrath? Blizzards, thunderstorms, hot scorching weather of 100s of degrees, hungry predators. All the mean while trying to stay alive.

My class is doing a project where we are given an environment and have to build a shelter, food supply, etc to support ourselves. Part of my environment is that we live in extremely cold temperatures, and I was wondering if we would be warmer if we built a house below ground. Can someone help me out?
