Do you think a dragonfly in Africa can create a hurricane in Florida?
I forget what the theory is called. It’s fun to think about though. What are your thoughts?

It’s called chaos theory…I don’t know about a dragonfly but a dust storm can start what becomes a hurricane…I live in the hurricane region of the US and we have gotten African insects and germs that blow across the Atlantic on the storm…weird looking spiders, plant diseases, animal diseases, all kinds of things that come with the hurricane…
That’s called the Chaos theory.
In mathematics and physics, chaos theory describes the behavior of certain nonlinear dynamical systems that under specific conditions exhibit dynamics that are sensitive to initial conditions (popularly referred to as the butterfly effect). As a result of this sensitivity, the behavior of chaotic systems appears to be random, because of an exponential growth of errors in the initial conditions. This happens even though these systems are deterministic in the sense that their future dynamics are well defined by their initial conditions, and there are no random elements involved. This behavior is known as deterministic chaos, or simply chaos.
"The Butterfly effect" I believe it’s called, and it is thought pervoking isn’t it ?
It’s the butterfly effect & no. Think how many hurricanes there would be if that was true. It’s not so deep when you say a burb in Idaho could cause a gust of wind in Japan.
it is referred to as "The Butterfly Effect", here is a brief article discussing its origin and meaning:

I know everyone is posting on what it’s called
But honestly it reminds me of that one proverb… I don’t remember exactly how it goes… but it’s something like
Even a man will be able to move a mountain, if moving but one pebble at a time.
That whole little cause making a big effect thing.
^^
Happens all the time but it’s done by butterflies.
if it flaps its wings hard enuf
……..anything’s possible
