Extreme Tornado Intercepts! May 10, 2010 Oklahoma Tornado Outbreak
TornadoVideos.net deploying inside multiple tornadoes with the Dominator in northern Oklahoma on two separate supercells as part of a historic Oklahoma tornado outbreak. The first series of suction vortices is from the supercell just south of Wakita, OK that tracked near Medford, and the white elephant trunk was west of Pawkuska in Osage County. We also intercepted this second tornado with my window down since I developed so fast, and nearly blew us off the road. Reed, Joel and Chris take what they do very seriously. They know the risks and they also love the science behind these storms. He’s informing the crew throughout this event. There needs to be communication when chasing tornado’s. It’d be stupid to stay quiet and shut your mouth. It also helps person with camera locate where tornadoes are, or about to form.

Talk about taking the trailer park to the tornado….this is worse than Beavis and Butthead go chasing, this is reality TV. The lowest common denominator has arrived on scene, and unfortunately it soils the reputation of the rest of the responsible chasing community.
Why do people chase tornadoes with an SUV or a Van. It’s the worst vehicle to be in.

@zipperboy2 Not everybody’s funded 500 K per year to have an armored car to get inside a tornado either. He wouldn’t do this without the “Dominator’. If Reed was sitting right where I was, he still would have gotten the intercept, because this tornado came right at me. I had to move on account that an S-10 pickup isn’t bullet proof and would also be tossed if the winds hit it right. If I fly, I’d rather be in a plane.
@tornadomad Mammatus Clouds do not form tornadoes. Tornadoes form in the updraft section of the thunderstorm. Mammatus are also (and more often) a sign that a storm is dying. Tornadoes spawn near or from the wall cloud if it’s a supercell tornado, and landspouts(type 2 tornadoes) form when rapid air circulation rises up and is ingested into the storm it’s under. This tornado formed from a rapid rotating wall cloud, I was close and filming it, but I had to move.

So they put this video up the day after this all happened.. I was in Medford at the time.. Talk about scary.. the sirens went off around 3:58 and the warning was issued a few minutes before.. That’s a long time considering the speed of this monster. Alot of things could have happpened before the sirens went off.. The storm could have went south so more and we would have all been screwed.. Thank goodness we have storm chasers

I was in the Jeep on the left side of the road in the beginning of this video, and I was terrified! I don’t know which was scarier, the tornadoes or the way all those storm chasers were driving! It was like being caught on a racetrack!
