Florida Hurricane people please respond!?
Are you worried about IKE? What have you done to get ready? Aren’t you tired of being told to "hunker down"? We’re putting up the shutters tomorrow and still have most everything else (batteries, water, food) from the "Fay" scare. What have you done?
Crow where’s Lake County? I’m in the Treasure Coast.
Southern - my mother-in-law (who I love) is in Louisiana (Washington parish) I know how you feel!

I am just waiting to see what happens next, and I am not getting worried in the meantime.
In the middle of the state - I live in Fruitland Park, which is just north of Leesburg.
i live in pennsyvlania but i would be really scared. id leave the state. thats 1 thing i dont like about coastal states is their hurricanes
inland florida here. ike is still way too far out to know if it will affect us.
i stay prepared the same way you have. be prepared for a solid week without power, and you should be fine.
I hope things go smoothly with Ike.
Over here in Southeastern LA, we hate hurricanes.
I’ve done nothing! I live in a mobile home. I’ll get evacuated and won’t need that stuff anyway.
no way dude!! Whenever there is a hurricane it’s always like a huge party at my house because all of my friends that live in mobile or non secured homes are evacuated and my family lets them stay over at my house and we just hang out, play in the rain, go surfing in my back yard swimming pool because the high winds actually create big waves in it (yes it’s stupid but we all come to terms with the fact that we only live once so we do that kind of shit!!) and then when it’s over we’re already a large group so we just band together and help eachother out to get everything cleaned up and help the families that recieved extensive damage. not that I’m saying that a hurricane storm isn’t a serious situation that shouldn’t be taken lightly, I guess that I’ve just been lucky enough in the past that nothing serious has happened to anyone i know. But again the helping out afterwards that we always do is always very rewarding…….
I’m not from Florida, I’m from Louisiana, and I’m definitely worried about Ike. I’m still cleaning up the mess around my house from Gustav, and I’m scared to death that it’s going to enter the gulf and wreak more havoc. I love living in the south, but hurricane season really sucks. I’ll be glad when December arrives.
Good luck with Ike, my prayers are definitely with you.
