Damn. The POWER of the waves…wind…and surge. My heart goes out to Galveston, my favorite place in Texas.

I wish I could have been there to support all who’s out there. Unfortunately I could not get deployed to assist who is in need right now in Texas.
Check out all those boats man the power of that storm was amazing..I live in S.E.Tx. and we got it hard to. I hope the best for each and every family and person that is dealing with the recovery… Troy from Texas
Thanks for serving our country
excellent video
Hey, look! Free yachts!!!
WOW! Ike wasn’t messin’with Texas was he? yes my heart goes out to all on the island, Bolivar too or anyone it may have devastated! I just feel for the people that thought they could get out of Bolivar to find they couldn’t. Very sad! I don’t think anyone knew it was going to be that bad, that quick, BEFORE the hurricane even hit! When I saw the rescues and those waves - I knew then this one was going to really do some hurtin’
WOW its looks like the bellagio fountains, lol, yea this was a pretty intense hurricane
first pasrt the waves were so incredible
People choose where they want to live…that’s life
Strange to see the pier on 61st and now its gone. The storm put a hurtin on the area. We will see what the future brings.
I was there in Ike. It was a powerful storm. At time it sounded like something was falling from the sky like in war of the worlds. it was terrifying. We went outside in it for a while but then we had to go in because the wind was too strong. the house was shaking.
powerful footage
Imagine if the seawall didnt exists what would have happened there.
Wow that is awesome.
one of the yachts said “Rita” on it lol Hurricane Rita-sept 2005.
Yea,,,, we already know. That’s why the seawall is there. The 1900 storm wiped Galveston off the map. Then, the entire city was lifted to match the new seawall.
Whoaaa! The 100-year old wall remain. I was there to see my house in Treasure Island a month later. I can’t believe it survived except for the starage down stairs. Most of all, I was glad to that see people were in high spirits.
I live in sugarland, just near houston, i saw alot of footage that day, We had our share bad weather that day!
