ITS EF5 now they just UP-DATED IT Sweet VID.
ps NOT GOLBEL WARMING !!!! JUST ONE OF NATURES FUREY BE SAFE AMERICA….
GOD KEEP US SAFE
Good Video. I was one of the first ones into Greensburg after they where hit. I arrived about an hour afterwards. To this day, i would swear it was bigger then an F5. Im a fire fighter and one of my guys where just talking about it that he heard sumthing along the lines of it being an F6 which have only believed to be on Mars in there storms on the planet. Makes you wonder
It does make you wonder and F6 that would be amazing
yeah no joke..the damege that an F6 would create, is supposed to be like a nuclear bomb going off and waht i saw, it sure as heck seemed like it
It was an EF 5! Not and F5! This was rated on the “Enhance Fujita” scale which we started using in February ‘07. On the F scale it would’ve only been an F4 or a high F3. The new scale has media sources confused and so they report it as “the most powerful since may 3″. It’s not. That one WAS an F5. The Hallam tornado was an F4- more powerful than the greensburgh. look it up- the EF scale for some odd reason has lower windspeeds for each category
this would have been an F5 on the old scale. The old rating and the Enhanced rating are based on DAMAGE !!
You’re missing the point. Based on that damage, the estimated wind speeds were 205mph. on the Fujita scale that would be a high F3. I repeat, look up the old scale categories and see where 205mph sits.
One of the signs of global warming is increased F5 tornadoes. There has been exactly NO tornadoes in the US since May 3 1999 that were F5 on the old fujita scale. So I guess global warming is more WARNING than global fact. BTW The cooling of last winter alone cancelled out all the last 50 years of so-called global WARNING. Regarding the old Fujita Scale there is no F6 since the damage would be utterly indistinquishable from a F5. Fujita measure intensity and velocity by DAMAGE.
BTW I lived in Dodge City KS and I have to say this catastrophe hit close to home. I remember the Hesston-Gossel F5 in 1990 and the Andover F5 tragedy. Just sad.
It is just April 2008 and we have had 607 Tornadoes way above previous years going back to 2005. Lets see what 2008 holds for us its still early…It looks like Global Warming is making MORE tornadoes source SPC Tornado Trends
But ya all believe that it ain’t happenin Its your choice
The Power of wind is pretty humbling
Based on that damage, the estimated wind speeds were 205mph. on the Fujita scale that would be a high F3. I repeat, look up the old scale categories and see where 205mph sits. It even says it at the beginning of this very video that an F5 would be AT LEAST 261mph. Greensburgh was only 205mph. Size has nothing to do with it
True. Look at some photos of true F5 (not EF5) damage. With an F5 there is nothing left. Period. No rubble. Nothing. It looks like someone took a giant broom and swept the buildings away. The photos I saw even showed the trees sucked from the ground. Where the center of the vortex passed, the grass was even gone. Nothing but dirt left.
Very much so
Yes, thank you! In F5 damage only the basements of houses would be left, trains and houses would be tossed. Sand, straw and hay become penetrating at those speeds. Greensburgh didn’t have that
sorry lovuian, that last one wasn’t meant for you. youtube error? >:/
Alright time for me to eat some crow. I’ve looked into the new scale more and I’m leaning towards accepting it. As far as damage goes I looked at more of the damage photos and the worst DID look like F5 damage. I’m sorry if I offended anyone with my beligerence.
They are the worst of any kind of tornado

the greensburg tornado was classified an EF-5 and having seen the damage first hand, the EF-5rating was clearly evident in many places. When a tornado is rated, it is rated by the worst damage that it caused on an uninterrupted path. If it only hit 3 houses and caused Ef-5 damage to only one house and Ef-2 to the others, it is rated an EF-5. Greensburg was mostly EF-4 damage, but there was EF-5 damage found in MANY locales. This was a REAL EF-5 tornado, a BIG one.
Since when did heat make tornadoes? it takes both warm and cool air to make a tornado. Global warming has nothing to do with tornadoes.
There were homes swept away, that is EF5 damage. EF5 tornadoes can cause widespread EF4 and EF3 damage while causing very little EF5 damage. The Elie, MB tornado is an example of that.
F5 and EF5 damage are the same.
I totaly agree.. tornadoes predate humans.. we did not make this happen..
