You can also get a small over hang, about 1.5k, and that can shelter 4-6 horses. you can also put hay wheels under them and protect the food and horses. It is nice in NY to have a place to sheild them from the wind. It can get wicked and horses not prepared do die. Snow is also an issue, so these scattered pole barns are good for horses who prefer outside and can't be in a stall.
