Ever want to be in a hurricane? Here’s your chance! Nearly 8 minutes of Hurricane Dennis…raw and in your face! See a tree die and hear the sound of the snap at 3:07 PM on the day of July 10th, 2005. Awesome footage…no human sounds at all! Be in the hurricane itself…all alone and scared!!!

There were a few moments during the video where I felt fear - not kidding - it got very intense. This must have been quite an experience! Where was this video taken?
Extremely informative and well done! Thanks for poting.
This video was taken on the north side of Pensacola, FL. To be honest, when it got really intense, I got some butterflies!
Ivan was worse, but Dennis has a bit of a punch!
woah dude pretty intense! Your trees are well bendy hahah the oaks trees in britain wouldn’t withstand this kinda wind at all cause i got more damage outside my house in a 80 mph storm, blew about 3 trees down in my village and destroyed my neighbors fence haha
Good video mate cheers
why wouldnt you not get butterflies? If i was there i probably be inside and shivering from the time it started
Thank you for posting - those of us who don’t experience hurricanes need to see how violent they are, not just the aftermath.
i was in havana cuba and hurricane dennis was making everyone go crazy man i was pretty scared my self and yes cuba was fun and dennis is my name too hehe
Very good video.
Only the sound of the rain and the wind.
At 6:00 the winds really pick up.
The sound of the wind is really scary. Thank you for sharing this.
And thank god that your (grand-) parents built a brick house
Somehow I missed the dying tree…
oh dang. i hadnt noticed.
pretty brave or whatever. but i would be out in the driveway llaying ohn the ground! haha. only cuz im in az though.
Notice how the winds are constant? When someone up north says, “We had a storm with 75 mph winds” they think it is like a hurricane. In a hurricane, it’s constant non-stop 75 winds with gusts of 95.
Thanks for not putting this to music.
This is probably the only hurricane vid w/o metallica or ac/dc music. The raw sound of the wind is frightening
It kinda makes music of it’s own, huh?
great vid
great vid T4
I love this video,, notice the tree fall in back round around i think 4-5- minutes in
hey i live in ohio we had surges of wind up to 80mph with out warning and in ohio people dont ever expect that to happen nobody was ever prepared for it and our houses couldnt stand it whole chunks of houses flew off no power for up to a mnth in parts.
Surges of 80 mph wind and 80 mph CONSTANT hurricane winds are two way different things.
I wonder why the grass just doesnt uproot and fly away???
been through 3 storms here in southern new england, probably 80-90mph winds at the most, but the memories of how far the trees bend before that sickening SNAP-CRASH happens, and the unforgettable smell of fresh cut wood afterward…gives me chills every hurricane season. we’ve been lucky so far…..
I loved being outside in that. The heat and no power sucked.
Great footoge my friend !
Bump
I remember Dennis broke A LOT of Trees in Georgia.
The tree, I think, dies at 3:38. What was weird about this storm was that our house had power, but the house catty-cornered to us didn’t.
