Hurricane Irene cuts our sunny days short at Atlantis, Bahamas…. staff has been doing an amazing job organizing and taking care of our needs. Been in a hurricane shelter for the past two days.

How will the planet and its intricate, yet fragile and interconnected climate / ecological systems get a chance to route back to? natural equilibrium if we keep pushing its boundaries, without fully knowing the consequences? The Precautionary Principle - if you are not sure of the consequences, which could be severe, then you should stop what you are doing. Corrupt government, the shadowy power figures need illuminating, in more ways than one. Amen
@TheGoodalpha Diagnose you, not at all. As you imply, that would be absurd under the circumstances. It is an impression & you shouldn’t take that so seriously. But if you wish to give it importance that is certainly your privilege. No matter how much effort a person puts into understanding something? there is always volumes more to learn. No matter how convinced you are of something, you’re not going to be able to convinced everyone of it. So it makes no sense to get upset with people. Thomas
@TheGoodalpha Geo-domes built just for them? That’s a bit fanciful. They don’t want to simply survive. Actually they? have several values and money is not at the top. Most important is their social standing and the power they wield. They can’t have that in a Geo-dome. They need civilization to survive. They may allow quite a bit of destruction, but they are also very careful not to cause a collapse. I foresee the eventual elimination of oil, but I don’t see oil as threatening our existence.Thomas
@TheGoodalpha One of the? greatest myths from environmentalists is that our environment is fragile. Too many people think humans are far more powerful than nature. I’ve even seen scientists claim science knows more than nature & how nature is flawed. Nature has it’s own rules & they can rarely be classified and put in logical order. You talk about natural equilibrium, but that is not an absolute, It is in constant motion with infinite variables. The earth can’t be put into a nice neat box. Thomas

People don’t want to learn and they STILL haven’t after experiencing so many hurricanes, it goes to show how stupid the west has become, completely ignorant and arrogant.
I hope the U.S. gets a storm so big it will wipe out? 1/5 of the U.S.

i was on the disney cruise in? the middle of ocean during the hurricane. it cancelled castaway cay AND the bahamas was ruined. i think everyone should pitch in and help those in need.
