hurricane season is amongst us. are ya’ll ready?
hurricane season is approaching and every year my fellow gulf coast residents prepare for the big one (remember rita?) they run to the store and buy all the supplies and water and other non perishables weeks before it even begins. normally i dont prepare too much but my question is does anybody here have a hurricane survival plan? any special tips they would like to offer such as evacuation routes, supply storage,. etc. ive lived in houston and louisiana my whole life and survived a lot of storms but with the economy being so unstable and with gas and food being so expensive, any tips we can share with one another would be nice.

Being prepared is the best thing you can do. Take a tip from campers. Get a large storage tote with a lockable lid. Fill it with necessities, canned food, a small propane stove,a sleeping bag, bottled water, toilet paper, some flashlights, a small radio and batteries. You might also want to put the originals of any important papers in there as well. We lived in South Carolina for 15 years, remember what Hugo did to us. Running out at the last minute is never a good idea. Those who do always buy milk and perishables that require refigeration. Herre’s a link to help:

Of course. And no Houston won’t get to be in the media.
been through several of the storms while living in the houston area and i have to say, i have never prepared for any of them. i’m lazy and not to worried about them actually hitting us.
