In 2005, was Hurricane Katrina’s major impact on the supply side of the economy or the demand side?
I know it sounds like a strange question, but I have not been able to figure this one out! Can someone please help me? If you have links to answer such a question, even better.

You are probably being too specific. Search for "disaster area economics".
Disaster areas are sellers’ markets and that is why there are laws against profiteering. Note that profiteering las often don’t apply to industries like home building, so construction contractors are welcome to gouge the victims of the disaster.
