Neither nature nor God will lift a hand to harm us. We do that on our own by choosing to live where we know Earthquakes, tornadoes and the like are. Gas prices we can resolve by building our OWN refineries and drilling for oil in the US. WE can change that. WE are sophisticated enough that we can do it without harming the environment! WE can say we will no longer be politically correct because we don't want to step on the toes of others. As we do that we give up our freedoms ourselves. One by one! As for food and stamps, we can be self sufficient. Where is the fighting pioneer spirit that helped build this country? No, God is NOT punishing us. We are doing it all to ourselves. First, the bad weather can't be helped. We have no control of the elements, but we do have control on how to protect the people properly from these fierce elements. Unfortunately, due to corruption, greed, politics, etc., many suffer unnecessarily. Same goes with the gas prices, food prices, etc. The system established by all of us, is what's causing much misery in the world. So, it's not God's fault. When our prices go up, it goes into some CEO's pocket or some undeserving SOB's retirement package. Suicides are on the rise in Japan. In Singapore, it is not uncommon to hear about pre marital sex and casual sex. HIV cases are on the rise in China because of casual sex. People in Singapore are generally repungant of the word "God", because money and materialism have taken over our lives. I believe all these immorality has a consequence.
