According to this link, and another which I cannot find we’re under a tropical storm/hurricane watch. The link told us to prepare and stuff, but is all that really needed? It’s west orange new jersey, so it’s close to new york and the jersey shore.
If preparation is needed, please gives guidlines/tips on how to prepare. We only have a day left!
It also scares me that the weather channel said that this could easily turn into a warning, It has my whole enighborhood a little shaky.

You are under watch, however the hurricane is not expected to make direct landfall, which is a good thing. You will probably experience the outer bands of Earl. However in case the storm takes a turn for the worse, you should take these procedures:
- Get a large supply of food, water, medicines etc…
- Board up windows
- Stay away from ocean when it hits. Get to high ground
- IF the order is given to evacuate your area, do so to encourage maximum safety. Right now you should be prepared to leave at any point.
As I stated earlier the storm in your area should not be to bad, but it is best to be prepared just in case.
I wish you and your neighborhood luck.
