I am in NC, getting the first bands of this as we speak……… I didnt board up anything, and Im pretty close to the ocean. So far, so good…. but the water is starting to rise up on my car’s wheels!
You will probably be okay in an apartment… I have a 2 story and Im upstairs, I can feel it shaking a bit but otherwise its okay (this wind is very strong!)… you dont have to turn your utilities off, just get your supplies and stay inside.. its so scary out here with this wind right now! Be prepared and stay safe!
Here are some ways
Dont use the toilet due to sewer problems,Hide in a Bathtub (cover something over yourself),If you have Children use a bike helmet to protect your head, Turn of utilities,Have Battery,Keep important Files With you,Have a radio for news
i’m just hoping for more free firewood for Winter, i’m not sure what you shoudl do there.
calm down. Hugo was the worst hurricane to hit and it barely did anything. Just ask the southeastern states. I should know cause thats where i am and was during hugo. Hurricanes have less destructive force than a tornado. It was even possible to go outside during hugo without much risk other than being pushed down by the wind. And hugo was the worst one ive ever seen.
