I live in Louisiana, heart of hurricane weather and the season has just begun, so I want to purchase some hurricane shutters, so i will not have to go the agony of getting wood boards, then having someone put them up etc. I have double paned windows, which are expensive to replace, I called home depot, but the guy told me he talk to me about "their home program, which sounds like opening a credit account(which I can not do) and paying on it monthly. I just want shutters that can be closed during bad weather myself, and that does not cost into the thousands. I have only six small 4 small windows and 2 larger ones on the home. Thanks guys.

Our rescue had lots of small pastures where the rescue horses were and the shelters were small, but now were moving to NY and aquiring a 75 acre pasture with 80 horses in it: How big should the shelter be and what kind of shelter should it be…we where thinking like a barn with doors all around that can be shut when we put the horses in there for bad weather. Any Ideas? PLEASE HELP!
Oh. and we hare scatering 3 sided shelters around the pasture.

There are post here about sparing animals lives who have killed humans. Is there someone out there that values animals lives higher or even, equal to humans? Yes they are kept confined in zoos not only to protect people from them but to protect them from people as well, they are fed regularly, given health care by licensed veterinarians,. sheltered in bad weather. I cannot see for the life of me why zoos are such bad institutions. Does anyone care to comment?

I have found myself most comfortable crashing out on the picnic table after everyone else has pooped out and quieted down. Seems I don’t like being enclosed in any kind of shelter. But in the even of bad weather, I’ll stick with my little teardrop trailer. She’s waterproof. What’s you game plan when camping?

I live in the mountains and it snows here in the wintertime. There are four horses near my house that are boarded in a small pasture with some trees (oaks without leaves now, and pines with leaves). That is all they have for shelter. It has rained for two days straight and all four of the horses are soaked. The pasture is very very muddy. I am not familiar with horses and want to make sure that it is safe and ok for them to be out in the bad weather. Starting to snow now. ps we have wild horses on bureau of land mgmt property nearby and they are used to the weather so perhaps it is the same for the tame horses? Just worried about the horses. (I know who owns these horses and he brings them hay every single day so I know they are fed well. )
