Video of four violent wedge tornadoes from different supercells in eastern Mississippi into Alabama, including the EF-5 that occurred near Philadelphia, Mississippi, as well as the birth of the Tuscaloosa tornado. Sadly, this tornado outbreak over “Dixie Alley” was responsible for substantial loss of life and property across MS, AL, GA, as violent tornadoes struck Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and other populated areas. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of this tragedy.
At least 290 people were killed across six states - more than two-thirds of them in Alabama - as America’s deadliest tornado outbreak in almost four decades pulverised entire neighbourhoods. Two of Alabama’s major cities were among the places devastated by the deadliest twister outbreak in nearly 40 years. As day broke on Thursday, people in hard-hit areas surveyed obliterated homes and debris-strewn streets. Some told of deadly winds whipping through within seconds of weather alerts broadcast during the storms on Wednesday afternoon and evening. Residents were told the tornadoes were coming up to 24 minutes ahead of time, but they were just too wide, too powerful and too locked onto populated areas to avoid a horrifying body count.
www.UltimateChase.com Exclusive video shot by Mike Theiss from ground zero of Hurricane Katrina’s historic 28 foot storm surge that ripped through Gulfport, Mississippi on August 29th, 2005. Also, included are shots from the Theiss-Device which is a camera housing designed by Mike to be placed in a place that would be too dangerous from any human to survive. This 13 minute video will give you a sense of just how bad Katrina was on the Gulf Coast without actually putting you in harms way !!! To see the entire version of this video about 2 hours in duration please purchase the DVD “Battle at the Beachfront”. http Jim Reed and Mike Theiss hope this documentation helps enforce a sense of storm awareness and a respect for the power of mother nature. www.UltimateChase.com EXCLUSIVE and RARE VIDEO Strongest Wind Gust Recorded on Video inside a Hurricane. At 03:08 in this video you will witness a Category 5 wind gust estimated well over 155mph !!!! This video has become famous and known worldwide as the “Hurricane Charley Gas Station” video. Mike Theiss of Ultimate Chase captures some of the strongest winds ever caught on video inside a Hurricane with an estimate wind gust well over 155mph during Hurricane Charley on August 13th, 2004 in Charlotte Harbor, Florida. This rare Category 5 wind gust is embedded with in Charley’s eyewall with sustained winds of 125mph. Mike believes a “mini-swirl” or “sub-vortices” was embedded in the eyewall and went right over his location during this sudden wind gusts. Scientist believe Hurricane Andrew had numerous “mini-swirls” that devastated South Florida back in 1992. While in Charley’s eye Mike recorded a low barometric pressure of 942mb which was used in The National Hurricane Centers final report of Hurricane Charley. To read the chase account and see a map of Mike’s location and to learn more about this insane documentation, please go to this link: mthurricane.com .
