With global warming, mega tsunamis and huge earthquakes happening so far this year, is it safe to say and expect hurricane season to be more severe than usual this year as well?

present an argument against the theory of manmade global warming.

It appears that many skeptics and deniers are quite convinced that their assertions are valid. This led me to wonder why they don’t validate their claims with links to sources or other citations.

So my question to skeptics is this – can you provide the evidence to back up the claims that are often used? Links to credible websites will be fine.

Given that skeptics like to be thought of as rational, objective and factual, then I expect there will be no problem at all in substantiating all of the following.

• The current warming is caused by natural cycles

• Global warming has ended and the Earth has been cooling for X number of years

• Scientists have admitted that they invented global warming, fabricated the evidence etc

• Global warming has not caused any change in the weather – droughts, floods, hurricanes etc

• Global warming is caused by the urban heat island effect, surface stations are incorrectly sited etc

• Scientists have deleted the raw data, the work of scientists can’t be verified

• It’s warmed faster in the past

• The number of glaciers is growing, glaciers are expanding etc

• Volcanoes emit more CO2 then humans do

• All the computer models in the past have been wrong

• The other planets are warming therefore it’s the Sun

I know global warming is real and I do know as the population increases more damage will be made. I would like to buy a house thare.

They seem to forget about any records before 1975 these are Temperature record, Hurricane Record, Typhoon Record, Drought Record, Meteorological Record, Freezing weather records, Ice Records… You get the picture as most of the significant alarming events were a long time ago!!!

The alarmists seem to focus mostly between 1975 - 1998 in all their marketing data as this is the recent global warming period as highlighted by The Royal Society in their recent climate change report. It has been pretty flat since 1998 and was cooling before 1975.

So do the alarmists deny global events before 1975… are they history deniers?

Let them have a conference showing the evidence they use (they won’t, it’s fraudulent) & allow Scientists to go over it. The earth puts out so much more CO2 than people do naturally (about the same deal with methane gas). The VARIATION in the earths yearly output is more than 1000 times what people contribute through their activities now. We make absolutely no predictable difference. Temp recorders have been placed in areas with artificial heat that would influence the temps.

The same people lying about this are lying about the US quality of life and many other subjects. This boils down to the Fabian Society’s plan to form a one world government they will preside over as Oligarchs. It all ties in to the same assholes. They start wars, destroy countries economies, push public opinion world wide through media outlets & government offices controlled.

Now that this hurricane season has come and gone without a single hurricane making landfall in the United States, is it time to celebrate the surrender of Global Warming? I have read 21 answers with interest and make the following observations:

1. ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ was rebuffed almost in its entirety by Dr Stephen Hayward’s lecture series.
2. There is no proof that global warming (gw) causes changes in weather patterns (hurricanes etc). We cannot predict the weather more than a week in advance.
3. Extinction - 99% of species going extinct are insects.
4. Definition of GW - techy but wrong. First and foremost, GW is a theory.
5. Disease - the Ebola and Hanta viruses were wrongly attributed to GW. This is hyped rubbish.
6. The Arctic is shrinking but the Antartic is growing. We have more ice now than 100 years ago. (Hence the 1970’s ice age panic).
7. Of the 21 answers, there is a 50-50 split of opinion for or against GW.

I conclude there is no data to show CO2 rises in our atmosphere cause anything untoward. I believe GW is a fear tactic used by Western governments to keep the population in line. Somebody convince me otherwise!

Global Warming is highly debated, although it is obvious that climates are changing. The debate however is the cause of this climatic shift. Is it due to the event known as Global Warming or is it a purely natural phenomena? Generally, Global Warming is defined as the concept that mankind is influencing a rapid increase in greenhouse gases in the Earth’s atmosphere, especially carbon dioxide. The theory is the phenomena known as Global warming will melt the ice caps and be the cause of more rapid and more extreme weather and natural disasters.

From what data I have seen, Carbon Dioxide is up approximately 1% in the past century; Temperature is up by approximately 1 degree Fahrenheit and natural disasters remain an average constant.

Personal experience, however, is proving to show more mild winters, cooler summers and generally mild storms. True, there were hurricanes and tsunamis in the years passed, but they were mere anomalies of normal storms taking a slightly different path.
Climate does seem to be shifting indeed, however, there were Ice Ages in the past following massive Heat Waves according to predictions. Seems to me, it may just be part of a natural cycle of Earth. That’s not to say we shouldn’t try to limit our destruction of balance, but there’s no reason to believe we’ve completely destroyed climates as well.
I forgot to also mention the credibility of the data of the past century or before is also arguable. The country believed to have the most reliable data is the US, however, readings were often done by simple mercury thermometers before the age of electronics.

They do not follow the Scientific Method, and modify the science as needed to fit their predetermined conclusions. In empirical science, one does NOT write the conclusion first, then solicit "opinion" on the report, ignoring any opinion which does not fit their predetermined conclusion while falsifying data to support unrealistic models.

10. Polar Bear populations are not endangered, in fact current populations are healthy and at almost historic highs. The push to list them as endangered is an effort to gain political control of their habitat… particularly the North Slope oil fields.

11. There is no demonstrated causal relationship between hurricanes and/or tornadoes and global warming. This is sheer conjecture totally unsupported by any material science.

12. Observed glacial retreats in certain select areas have been going on for hundreds of years, and show no serious correlation to short-term swings in global temperatures.

13. Greenland is shown to be an island completely surrounded by water, not ice, in maps dating to the 14th century. There is active geothermal activity in the currently "melting" sections of Greenland.

14. The Antarctic Ice cover is currently the largest ever observed by satellite, and periodic ice shelf breakups are normal and correlate well with localized tectonic and geothermal activity along the Antarctic Peninsula.

15. The Global Warming Panic was triggered by an artifact of poor mathematics which has been thoroughly disproved. The panic is being deliberately nurtured by those who stand to gain both financially and politically from perpetuation of the hoax.

16. Scientists who "deny" the hoax are often threatened with loss of funding or even their jobs.

17. The correlation between solar activity and climate is now so strong that solar physicists are now seriously discussing the much greater danger of pending global cooling.

18. Biofuel hysteria is already having a disastrous effect on world food supplies and prices, and current technologies for biofuel production consume more energy than the fuels produce.

19. Global Warming Hysteria is potentially linked to a stress-induced mental disorder.

20. In short, there is no "climate crisis" of any kind at work on our planet.

I can’t believe it! Every time I visit internet, open a newspaper, listen to radio or TV news, there’s at least one more "latest news" about something going wrong due to GLOBAL WARMING!!!!!

CLOSING COMMENT.

I mentioned 11 arguments that are often used by climate change skeptics and deniers and asked if it were possible to validate some of the claims.

37 people answers and not one single link to back up one single claim. I’ve asked similar questions before that have elicited a total of 142 answers, none of which provided links to any credible sources.

It seems safe that such claims have no backing and no credibility to them, which therefore begs the question why they are perpetuated by the skeptics and deniers.

Kerry Emanuel is an MIT climate scientist and expert on hurricanes. It’s sad I need to say this, but to try and ward off ad hominem attacks, it should be noted that until a couple of years ago Emanuel was considered an AGW ’skeptic’. He also voted for Ronald Reagan, so please let’s avoid calling him a socialist/communist/leftist/Marxist/etc. Some excerpts:

The Environmental Protection Agency is stifling a report hostile to the agency’s global warming agenda, a free-enterprise group revealed.

The EPA is keeping the report under wraps and silencing its author because the Obama administration is pressuring it to support carbon dioxide regulations, according to the Competitive Enterprise Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy group dedicated to the principles of free enterprise and limited government.

The suppressed report warns that the EPA’s adoption of the United Nations’ 2007 “Fourth Assessment” means that it is relying on outdated research and ignoring major new developments on the issue of climate change.

The enterprise institute, which released the report by analyst and economist/physicist Alan Carlin, explained that those new developments include the continued decline in global temperatures, a new consensus that hurricanes will not be more frequent or intense, and new findings that water vapor will moderate, rather than exacerbate, temperature.

Other new data indicates that ocean cycles probably are the most important single factor in explaining temperature fluctuations, though solar cycles may play a role as well, the institute said. Moreover, reliable satellite data undercut the likelihood of endangerment from greenhouse gases.

All of this demonstrates that the EPA should analyze the science independently, rather than just adopt the conclusions of outside organizations such as the United Nations, the institute said.

The institute’s general counsel, Sam Kazman, explained its release of the report by saying, “While we hoped the EPA would release the final report, we’re tired of waiting for this agency to become transparent, even though its administrator has been talking transparency since she took office.
