I need help.
Come someone help me?
I’ve heard that from the weather channel, that experts predicted an active hurricane season in the Atlantic this year, but i’m not seeing anything. This year, we’ve only had 1 hurricane, and 1 tropical storm. It’s been probably 2 months since the beginning of the season, but not much activity.. why
10. Decorating the house (OK: boarding up windows).
9. Dragging out boxes that haven’t been used since last season (camping gear, flashlights).
8. Last minute shopping in crowded stores.
7. Regular TV shows pre-empted for "specials".
6. Family coming to stay with you
5. Family and friends from out of state call.
4. Buying food you don’t normally buy … and in large quantities.
3. Days off from work.
2. Candles.
And the number one reason Hurricane Season is like Christmas:
1. At some point you know you’re going to have a tree in your house!
We want to go to Costa Rica. Wedding is in July 09′. I am scared that since its during hurricane season we wont have such a good trip. Has anyone planned a tropical honeymoon during hurricane season? How did everything turn out?
Suppose that a particularly harsh hurricane season reduces oil-refining capacity and shuts down plants, factories, and office buildings in the Gulf Coast region. How would this effect the aggregate demand and short run aggregate supply of an economy? How about in terms of unemployment and inflation?
THANKS!
Every time the oil prices rise (every day) the reason we are given is supply and demand. The Saudis say they are pumping enough to keep up with the demand. If there is a new demand every day then where are all these new demands coming from. The same people have been demanding oil for the past few years. What happens when hurricane season gets here? Are they gonna raise prices again on fears of a hurricane? Also, who sets the prices of oil per barrel here in the US?
It’s hurricane season and our power goes out a lot. I’m afraid that the data in my PS3 will be erased.
What’s the best External HD someone would recommend to backup my PS3?
Seems like every few days they announce, Oil prices rise today on, (shakes magic 8 ball), "fear" of supply shortage, or fear of a strong hurricane season, or fear of tensions with Iran, or because of China, or India. It always seems like something. Yet the Arabs seem to be pumping an uninterrupted and ample supply of crude. And who profits most from this surge? The speculators, the commodities investors that bought it the day before for less a barrell. So who is telling a lie? What is the truth here? I need to know who to send a nasty e-mail to.
I know people travel on cruises year round, hurricane season or not! but I was wondering if people can tell me their experiences. I asked the booking agent if cruises get canceled if a hurricane is in the path of the cruise or what and she said captains are trained to evade the hurricane, go around it, and even change the port itineraries if need be. Please help! My trip is about 3 weeks away.
My husband and I are planning a trip to Jamaica in July…I was told that was during hurricane season but the person who told me that could recall when it started and ended. Help us out please?
of course either way we are getting travel insurance.
My husband’s not going to be here after July so we’re trying to go then.
If I could change it I would.
Is anybody worried about this years hurricane season? Possibly up to 23 hurricanes? It worrys me because it gives the whole gulf coast a greater risk of getting hit by a hurricane. It’s crazy. Ive been thinking about buying hurricane supplies now to be better prepared. I live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and I wasen’t prepared for Gustav at all and wasent too worried as it was a landfalling category 2. It ended up being the worst storm to ever hit Baton Rouge and I lost most of my roof in that storm, Along with my bathroom window and the pine trees in my yard. Should I start preparing now for possible storms this year? What are yall doing?
My husband and I can only travel at the end of September and I know the Caribbean should be avoided because it is hurricane season. But I was wondering if an island like Grenada was affected because it’s further south? Would anyone happen to know? thanks!
which months does it starts the hurricane season and which month does it ends
I live in Florida and we are supposed to be getting ready for a bad hurricane season. We usually get everything we need, but are on a tight budget this year. I’m sure we will manage to get whatever we need, little by little, but it got me to thinking……What about the people who just don’t have the money? Have you ever seen the supply list?
Are all of you ready if a hurricane or any other major storm hits your area?
I’m moving to miami soon and I wanted to know when is the best time to move. I was thinking end of August or sometime in September. My concern is moving during hurricane season. I’ll be working at a restaurant in North Miami Beach. Should I live close to my job or close to where all the action is, like south beach?
CSU have just released their predictions for the 2008 hurricane season and are predicting 13 names storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes, do you think this this is an accurate prediction?
The long term average is 9.6 names storms per year, 5.9 hurricanes and 2.3 major hurricanes.
This time last year they made their predictions for 2007 stating they beleived there would be 14 named storms, 7 hurricanes and 3 major hurricanes. On each count they were out by just one (actual activity being 15, 6 and 2).
My family is going on vacation to Bermuda on the week of July 29. Is this hurricane season and will we be affected at all by the weather. Can anyone give some basic info about Bermuda and whats nice there and what to visit and what to stay away from.Much appreciated!
I live in Louisiana and am worried about the upcoming hurricane season. Starts Thursday, I think. I’m originally from Mississippi so I’m rather new to this dramatic hurricane stuff. Katrina about blew us off the map! If any of you live in the coastal regions, I would love to hear your opinion.
In mid Aug I am supposed to be going to a family reunion near Orlando area, I was afraid of going if that is hurricane season, can anyone help?
Is this upcoming hurricane season going to worse than last year’s? What about for gulf coast residents?
The shift in supply and demand will go left I believe because of fewer tourists. But what changes to the equilibrium? Do prices rise or fall?
*I am confused because I know that hotel rates go down during hurricane season, but from what I have learned, when the curve goes left the prices should increase and quantity should decrease*
Can anyone clear this up for me? thanks
The same private weather forecasting company that predicted a hurricane season in 2006 that would be as bad or worse than 2005, has predicted another bad season. 2006 was a complete dud compared to their forecast, and the same people get front page notice for making another scary prediction? You would think that we would have learned from last year not to believe people that claim they can see the future, if the hurricanes happen, they happen, if they don’t they don’t. The mechanisms that give birth to these storms is far too complex for even the best forecasters and computers to predict 24 hours in advance, what makes these people think they can predict up to a year in advance?
Ever since 2004 and Katrina these idiot Meteorologist predict a busy hurricane season, I think they are buying into the global catastrophe theories that the Discovery channel is burning out. I want a job where I make 100000. a year, wrong 90% of the time and still don’t get fired.
