I live in FL and now already going to July and every thing still quite…wondering what is the most active month of the hurricane season..

Hurricane season is here and we just bought a house that did not come with shutters. We don’t want to use plywood, we want shutters. Anyone know of a good place to purchase shutters and have them installed before the first hurricane? I live in South Florida (and not by choice! Believe me! I would move in a heartbeeat if I could…)

I realize that all of Florida experiences hurricanes, but I’m trying to figure out which area has the fewest or the least severe hurricanes. I’m considering moving to Florida and I don’t want to spend all of hurricane season evacuating. If you know of a meterological study please let me know. Thanks!

I am thinking about going to Ft lauderdale around early or mid sept..I know Miami is closer to the carribean and from what I heard experiences the hurricane season..does that go the same for Ft. Lauderdale?

We’ve only had one storm, and it was a Tropical Depression, I think…is this unusual, or is it just July and the peak of hurricane season will come later on this year? I remember we already had a few storms by this time last year.

I put duct tape on my windows during hurricane season a few years ago and it left sticky residue on my window, how do i get it off?

I am going to be going to Florida on September 17th and I was just wanting to know if the hurricane season was still going to be going. Most likely it is the way things are going right now with all these hurricanes and tropical storms but I just thought I would ask.

Okay… I know that the bermuda triangle is near the bahamas. but im going on a cruise to the bahamas (november) for thanksgiving! As much as im excited, its also hurricane season! Nothing bad will happen, right?

Explain why hurricanes hit south florida frequently and how it correlates to hurricane season

I wanted to book a cruise next september for the Western or Eastern Carribean, but heard that it’s hurricane season, has anybody had any problems??

I start early. Do you prepare early for hurricane season?

I’m looking to study in Guatemala next summer, and I’m wondering what type of weather to watch out for. I know that it’s tropical, but I’m particularly concerned about hurricane season. Before surfing the net for one simple answer, I thought I’d check here first to see if someone may know off the top of their head: Would I need to watch out for hurricanes during the months of May and June?

Many thanks!

I am taking my family to Disney World and unfortunately can only go in September, October, or November… when is it hurricane season down there? Which of the three months would it be the "safest" to go, weather-wise? Thank you.

Since hurricane season is right around the corner, I was thinking of doing some exterior updates to my house…storm shutters and whatnot. I was just curious if any of you have applied for the discounts they give with the “MY Safe Florida Home” program. A friend of mine told me today, that they denied her because her home was worth too much, and that the process was arduous.

Was it an easy process?

Would you say the process is worth the discount?

it’ll be that time again in 3 months. I live in louisiana and it seems like we just barely went through hurricane gustav and hurricane season is already coming again. I always get kinda nervous about us having another 2005. not just talking about new olreans either, that year was crazy as hell when it came to hurricanes. do you think this’ll just be another season to come and go or something worse? also have they made the predictions on how many storms we’ll have? :)

You all should be aware of hurricane preparations, but in case you need a refresher course: We’re about to enter the hurricane season. Any minute now, you’re going to turn on the TV and see a weather person pointing to some radar blob out in the Atlantic Ocean and making two basic meteorological points.

There is no need to panic.
We could all be killed.
Yes, hurricane season is an exciting time to be in Florida. If you’re new to the area, you’re probably wondering what you need to do to prepare for the possibility that we’ll get hit by "the big one."

Based on our insurance industry experiences, we recommend that you follow this simple three-step hurricane preparedness plan:

STEP 1: Buy enough food and bottled water to last your family for at least three days.

STEP 2: Put these supplies into your car.

STEP 3: Drive to Nebraska and remain there until Halloween.

Unfortunately, statistics show that most people will not follow this sensible plan. Most people will foolishly stay here in the coastal states. So, start with step one.

You’ve seen for yourself that, Tropical storm Andrea never gained any strenth. I know that everyone concerned, would like to see the rest of the season end the same way.As long as i’m watching they all will turn out the same way, unless my scedual changes.l had to stop working last year, part of the reason was to neutralize the hurricane season,Now it’s time to go back to work, as i stated previously i can’t do this along.I want some answers as to why i was implanted, and the physician responsable for this injustice.I’t seems like everyone involoved, wants to keep this top secret wile telling the public some other reason as to why Global warmimg is reaking havoc on the plannet.Or keeping quiet lone enough until they fix the problem, and never have to explaine. So many people lost their lives, why…Because man wants to play god of all things.Wake up and realize whats really happening before it’s too late!

I’m traveling to the Keys in late Sept… is that still hurricane season?

My friend and I would like to vacation there but I am concerned about the weather around that time. Is that hurricane season and what will the temperature be like? Also what is the best hotel to stay at in the French Quarters that is 3 or 4 stars?

I’m moving to Florida and I’ll probably be there tomorrow but I was just wondering when hurricane season was because there are 2 out in the Atlantic right now. I’m not totally worried about it I guess it’s just my curiosity…

It’s the middle of the season, and there haven’t been any hurricanes yet. Just one tropical storm.

And they were predicting such a horrible hurricane season. National Geographic even said: "Hurricanes: No End In Sight"

Yeah, right.

I don’t want to worry about my house being destroyed during hurricane season.

There were lots of (supposed) reasons why the price of oil recently rose to record levels — hurricane season approaching, instability in the Middle East, disruptions with the Alaskan supply, etc, etc.

However, in the recent days, the price of oil has suddenly dropped 25%-30%. What happened to generate that large price change? What are the explainable causes?

We want to take our kids to Disney in September, but I noticed that Sept. is peak hurricane season. When you stayed there in Sept., how was the weather? I see that it is one of the slowest times of year. Would you recommend it?

hurricane season is approaching and every year my fellow gulf coast residents prepare for the big one (remember rita?) they run to the store and buy all the supplies and water and other non perishables weeks before it even begins. normally i dont prepare too much but my question is does anybody here have a hurricane survival plan? any special tips they would like to offer such as evacuation routes, supply storage,. etc. ive lived in houston and louisiana my whole life and survived a lot of storms but with the economy being so unstable and with gas and food being so expensive, any tips we can share with one another would be nice.
