I live in N.E. Oklahoma, and I haven't heard a full song from beginning to end all day, due to the emergency interruptions for tornado warnings. Anyone else having this problem?
Hurricane?
Volcano?
Earthquake?
Tsunami?
Cyclone?
…….you get the picture.
Would it be possible, possibly due to the effects of global warming, that a weather system could develop a hurricane / cyclone that could engulf the earth, similar to the martian dust storms that cover the entire surface of mars?
I just moved to Louisiana a few months ago and there is a tropical storm which is expected to move into the gulf and possibly become a major hurricane. I have been watching the weather and it as weakened and is a few days from getting into the gulf. should I leave just to be safe or wait. the thing is I don’t have that much money. and i don’t want to spend it for nothing. and if i should leave when…sorry i am so new at this I’ve never been through a tropical storm or hurricane! thanks
A Hurricane was approaching and I caught this footage of the winds and flooding.
In my writing class i have to write a essay about why is it important to be prepared for a hurricane.
My 3 reason’s are

On my grandma’s oven it says supply open neutral… It’s model # is JT980. We think the power going out from hurricane Ike messed it up… How do we fix it!?!?!?!?! Thanks everyone!!! O ya and I think it’s a HG Profile or something I think thats what it says on the 2 door oven…

Has a tropical depression, storm or hurricane ever blown across the Isthmus of Panama crossing either from the Atlantic to the Pacific or vice versa?
Could it happen? What would happen, if it did?
Another fine collection of severe weather footage from my Broadcast collection. The actual footage contains longer clips. The footage is very high quality. All footage was shot by me, and is released for public viewing on You Tube. Please visit our main website at stormchaser.com to email as we do not check our box here frequently.
Pretty much everywhere you look, from right after the hurricane until now, volunteer church groups are in 100 degree heat and 100% humidity, replacing roofs, rebuilding houses, clothing, feeding, paying for utilities and appliances and just generally meeting the needs of those in dire straits. They supply the money, materials and manpower for the work. They live in tents and campers, use family vacations …
There really aren't any non church groups noticably active.
Can anyone tell me of some non church groups or individuals active in this or other such American disasters?
Please be specific.
There is a major hurricane headed for your area. It is entirely likely that you could be without water for a week or more. You may be able to get a few gallons of water from relief supplies after the hurricane, but these would be for drinking water. The supplies may not arrive for many hours. Take into account your family's daily water usage as determined in this activity, what steps would you take to ensure your family's survival and comfort?
I was watching Channel 4 Olympics, & all of a sudden the news appeared. Then I found out that there would be a hurricane southward of Florida. & I think it would be around the Key West area of Florida. I’m not so sure. But can somebody give me more information about it? Thank You.

My car ran good until After the hurricane. Iwent out to start it after the hurricane to get supplies and it wouldnt start. I had it towed yesterday and they said the engine locked up. Does any one know if that was cause by the hurricane and will FEMA reimburse me?
I have about the same amount of windows on each side of my house including the main rooms (kitchen, living, etc) Someone has asked me which side is the most important to cover for Hurricane Ike. I live on what will likely be the northeast border of where the eye is to hit. Does it really make a difference if I board up the north, south, east or westward facing windows??
Also, I live about 50 miles inland.
I am trying to determine if shutters will offer complete protection in a hurricane or just protection against "flying missles".
The blog is about me being independent. I would like for you to take sentence structure , humour , and description/meaning into consideration more so than punctuation .
Independence
I learned at a very young age to do things myself , and I learned to do them very well. By age 5 ,I could do so much more than recite the alphabet , get myself dressed and tie my own shoes. I was able to get myself to and from places with my own two feet , whether it be biking or walking. At age nine I started taking unimaginably long walks to get to where I needed or wanted to go . By 11 , I was decorating my parent's home elaborately for Christmas , with outside lighting. I have assembled desks all by myself , when it reads right on the box that more than one person is needed . If I need to go grocery shopping without a car , no problem ! I just dangle three bags over each handlebar on my bike , and I get myself home .
The team lifts at work are what Wows everyone the most. There are pieces of furniture at work which weigh a ton. I lift these pieces of furniture into the customers van or truck with the least amount of help .I remember being written a comment card once at work which made me chuckle . It said "Midnight , team lifts WOW!." Keyword there is "team" but there is no " I " in team . Independence however starts with an "I" so basically I have learned to go places , do things , dine , watch movies all by myself….
Determination also plays a role in my strength . If I need or want something , I will go through a hurricane to acquire whatever that need or want may be ! I might walk on hot coals to get to that department store and buy that cute sweater that happens to be the last one left in my size.
The average person may feel uncomfortable entering a dark crowded movie theater alone , or may feel uncomfortable sitting at a formal dining restaurant eating by themselves . . . . But not I .
I . . . I . . . I . . . Beautiful letter isn't it ? Maybe one day it will become my favorite letter. . .
I live on the Gulf Coast and have a 3 month old. In case of a hurricane I need a checklist so I wont forget anything.
If you live in the Caribbean or Florida/Gulf state area, you’ll be aware that there are roughly 12 to 15 computer models that the weathermen-and-women use to predict where hurricane is likely to move towards. Now, I figure, one or two of these computer models has to have a higher percentage of being right and predicting the course of the storm.
I’m sure each computer model uses different variables and data in their calculations, that’s why half the courses point in very opposite manners some times.

For the pressure to fall in a hurricane’s core, mass must be removed from the column above the center. True or False?
Some of my many questions: How badly did Hurricane Katrina affect New Orleans Mardi Gras? Did St. Louis take over the #1 spot in 2006? How did each city rank in popularity and size in 2006? Are there projections for 2007?
I recently came across this video blog on youtube where this girl was ranting about why in the F*** should taxpayers have to pay for those who chose not to leave before Hurricane Ike hit Texas.I thought she was way out of line and showed not even an ounce of compassion for human life and the well being of others.I live in Houston, although we didn’t suffer that much damage other than a couple of nights without power thankfully. When Rita and Katrina hit, our city and surrounding cities opened up our hearts, our homes and our wallets to help out any way we could. There are still a lot of the same people here who chose to call Houston home but some are still getting help from the government with housing and food stamps. My point is that no matter who or what,we still have to pay taxes like it or not.Check this out. What do you think. Go to youtube and look for “re-ur a slut”.This person makes such a fool of herself with the way she talks about people.
Oh,I wouldn't say I was being naieve.I understand that folks need to try to get their lives back on track but there are actually people here who really need the help. Some have been out of work since the storm hit due to no power yet when they go ask for help they get turned down because they're told they "make too much money" and don't qualify for any help at all. Then we have those people here from Louisianna still standing in lines asking for assistance and getting it then driving off in their expensive cars to their new HUD homes. My friend has four kids and was turned away because her husband makes too much yet,he works in a building with no power for the past two and a half weeks. They still have no power at home.
We're trying to put together a presentation in order to raise money for the Hurricane/Cyclone Sidr victims. What is a good way to find pictures?
