This video shows the aftermath of Hurricane Ike on Galveston Island, TX on Saturday morning after landfall. One of the biggest threats were fires, which were almost impossible to control given the strong winds. Check out the pre-landfall surf and landfall videos on the TornadoVideos.net channel

This was taken hours prior to Hurricane Ike making landfall. Severe, widespread flooding had already begun.

This is raw video footage in the front of my house of the Hurricane/Tropical Storm ‘Fay.’ I was on the porch, and the wind was tremendous… I don’t have the actual wind speed on this video recorded. The 331st Air Expeditionary Group conducting a search and rescue of Hurricane Ike victims and storm damage. Scenes include military personnel rescuing people from their rooftops, aerial footage of flooded areas, horses standing in floodwaters and houses under water. Thank God these men and women of the Military are there to help!

I decided this could be a significant storm, despite many people defying the odds and disregarding warnings. Therefore it seemed like a historic thing to try and capture the essence of the weekend Ike hit Texas. Hope you enjoy!!
