This is raw video from David Reimer shot just south of downtown Oklahoma City on the now infamous May 10, 2010. Sirens were activated just after 4:45 PM CDT when the supercell that would go on to produce several strong tornadoes, including the Moore EF4, first became tornado warned just southwest of the city. This was a High Risk day from the Storm Prediction Center and the local media had been hyping up this event for the past week, still there were some people that did not take the warning seriously, as you can see in the video. This was about ten minutes before we moved northeast to get out of the way of the softball sized hail inbound and to get in the path of the cell out east of the metro. Be sure to check out Connor’s excellent tornado video from the red river that was taken about 90 minutes later. This video is not for rebroadcast, but a clean version of the video is available for media licensing.

**WARNING!! DO NOT TAKE COVER UNDERNEATH AN OVERPASS WHEN A TORNADO IS APPROACHING!!!*** This video defines the beginning of storm chasing for TornadoVideos.net. We knew very little about storm structure or forecasting back then, but we learned fast on May 3, 1999. This video is a great example of how NOT to safely storm chase. Seeking shelter under an overpass is a HUGE mistake, since the winds actually accelerate there when a tornado approaches. Check out TornadoVideos.net for more insane …

**PLEASE READ FIRST** While it is correct that I was not in the funnel of the tornado I was on the edge of the circulation. I was not the only one caught off guard by this tornado as TVN also had a close call that even resulted in one of their chasers loosing their windshield about a mile from me. The tornado had be moving due east and I had started to stair step to the SE to get out of the RFD when the tornado turned and started to move to the SE and cut me off as it started to rope out …
