Some of the tornadoes we caught on film this day. I will upload a different and better version later. My original editing software has malfunctioned and I’m using a lower grade software until I can get a better one. My later videos will include the twin tornadoes that others have on film.
Raw footage, May 3, 1999 tornado in southwest Oklahoma City. An edited non-stabilized version of this same video, with sound, can be viewed at: www.youtube.com
This is video of the F5 tornado that struck Moore Oklahoma on May 3. At this point it is at it’s largest size as it moves NE toward the Moore and Oklahoma City area.

Reed Timmer, a star of the top rated Storm Chasers Television series on the Discovery Channel, is one of the most successful and most extreme storm chasers in the world. Now, in Into the Storm, he takes readers inside the terrifying and awe-inspiring world of big weather. Into the Storm is Timmer’s dramatic account of his extraordinary profession. Featuring stories of the three-hundred-plus extreme tornadoes, hurricanes, or blizzards that Timmer has watched ring-side over the last decade—storms that include the killer F5 tornado that struck Moore, Oklahoma, in May 1999; the unprecedented, devastating storm surge of Hurricane Katrina; and the little-studied but enormously powerful storm systems in places like Canada and Argentina. As a Ph.D. candidate in meteorology, Timmer is after more than just an adrenaline rush—his stories feature fascinating insights into the science of storms, and how the …

The backseat passenger was in a scenario that was a bit sketchy and life threatening, therefore his language was loosely restrained. We edited and made the video shorter so you can jump right into the action and is appropriate for all ages.
May 24th 2011, after coming really close to a giant wedge tornado in Lookeba Oklahoma, Holy Tornado then raced south to Chickasha were we once again got our visual of the mesocyclone just off to our southwest. Before this thing had condensed all the way to the ground, you could see the concentrated area where the funnel was about to emerge from the meso. It seemed like there was just a cloud of debris on the ground underneath this meso forever until it had finally fully condensed. Thereafter as the twister gets closer, it intensifies dramatically right outside Jeremy’s window. Shortly after this, you see it hit several homes in a small community and also hits a trailor house and lofts it out the back of the twister. We immediately start searching through rubble and debris. Sadly, one person perishes from this destructive twister and there were numerous injuries. May god be with the families that were effected by this and may the recovery process get underway fast and be quickly completed.
A tornado has leveled parts of Joplin Missouri. 117 deaths confirmed so far. Joplin was a town of 50000 people.
Filmed near Lookeba, Oklahoma during the May 24, 2011 Oklahoma tornado outbreak, this extremely close-up video details incredibly violent, chaotic motion within the main vortex of this long-tracked tornado — something rarely captured on video.
Storm chasers Chad Cowan, Darin Brunin and Jordan Wrecke were in perfect position to document this amazing, photogenic tornado that occurred near Grainola, OK on February 27, 2011. The tornado eventually crossed the OK/KS border, and remained over open country for its lifespan. Chad shot this video with the Canon 5D Mark II with a 17-40mm f/4L wide angle lens. Like the opening shot? You can help send Chad to South America by voting in the National Geographic contest, below! We appreciate your support! www.nationalgeographic.com Prints also available at www.chasethestorms.com and http Chad will be one of the only chasers filming exclusively with an HDSLR this season! Expect more of the same from his future videos — only closer next time!

This is raw video from David Reimer shot just south of downtown Oklahoma City on the now infamous May 10, 2010. Sirens were activated just after 4:45 PM CDT when the supercell that would go on to produce several strong tornadoes, including the Moore EF4, first became tornado warned just southwest of the city. This was a High Risk day from the Storm Prediction Center and the local media had been hyping up this event for the past week, still there were some people that did not take the warning seriously, as you can see in the video. This was about ten minutes before we moved northeast to get out of the way of the softball sized hail inbound and to get in the path of the cell out east of the metro. Be sure to check out Connor’s excellent tornado video from the red river that was taken about 90 minutes later. This video is not for rebroadcast, but a clean version of the video is available for media licensing.
Verne Carlson captured this ridiculous tornado video from the May 10, 2010 high risk day in Oklahoma! You can follow Verne’s storm chases LIVE at TornadoVideos.net!
TornadoVideos.net deploying inside multiple tornadoes with the Dominator in northern Oklahoma on two separate supercells as part of a historic Oklahoma tornado outbreak. The first series of suction vortices is from the supercell just south of Wakita, OK that tracked near Medford, and the white elephant trunk was west of Pawkuska in Osage County. We also intercepted this second tornado with my window down since I developed so fast, and nearly blew us off the road. Check out the full story on Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers starting October 2010!
