BELGIUM - The music festival Pukkelpop in Kiewit (Hasselt) in Limburg province has been hit by a very heavy weather storm yesterday evening. The roof of a tent and a couple of other constructions collapsed and a few trees were uprooted. 5 festival-goers were killed, and the 3-day festival, which would have run until Sunday August 21, has been completely cancelled.

5/25/2011 Eastern Missouri tornado chase video. The first tornado-warned supercell was encountered near Rolla, MO. The chase continued to the NE along I-44 to Cuba, MO then south on Highway 19 through Steelville, OK with another HP supercell storm. The first significant supercell of the day was encountered north of Fredricktown, MO and a brief tornado. Monday was a classic storm chasing day in south central Nebraska as multiple tornadoes hit Hamilton and York counties. We have put together this compilation video from several of our StormChasingVideo.com freelance chasers to show the power and the beauty of the violent tornadoes in Nebraska on Monday. In the first part of the video was shot by Meteorologist Brandon Ivey who is with the TIV or Tornado Intercept Vehicle for Discovery Channels TV show “Storm Chasers”. The video shows some extreme close up tornado footage including one scene where a train is hit by the tornado. The tornado then moves across a road about a quarter mile in front of them while picking up and destroying buildings and power lines in its path. The tornado moved off into a farm field as the TIV crew continued to keep with the storm At one minute and thirty six second into the video, it show the footage from Eric Treece who caught the Bradshaw,NE tornado from near the beginning of its life cycle and continued to chase it until it roped-out or dissipated. The footage by Eric Treece shows a classic tornado that is back lit by as it rips up a farm field. At one point it passes right behind a farm but does not destroy the buildings. Eric keeps on chasing the tornado after it passed by his location until it dissipated. Following the tornado that struck Pampa, Texas on June 8, 1995, a second and larger tornado develops just outside town and tracks northeast toward Hoover. Veteran storm chaser and cinematographer Martin Lisius captures this F5 monster as it narrowly misses the Jordan Unit Prison. Note the prison watch towers where guards look on in terror. This tornado was so powerful, it stripped asphalt from local highways. Footage is copyrighted and available for license from StormStock (www.stormstock.com).
This tornado was on the ground for 43 miles, it struck three communities, killing 9. Final assessment of the storm determined that it was an EF-5 tornado when it struck Parkersburg and New Hartford. Winds were estimated at 205mph.

The Birmingham Tornado was a tornadic event that occurred on April 8, 1998 striking the western part of Jefferson County, Alabama, near Birmingham, and continuing into neighboring St. Clair County. It was part of a larger outbreak that started on April 6 across the Great Plains and ended on April 9 across the Carolinas and Georgia. A total of 62 tornadoes touched down from the Middle Atlantic States to the Midwestern United States and Texas. The Birmingham Tornado was one of only two F5 tornadoes that year. The other hit in Lawrence County, Tennessee on April 16, as part of the same outbreak as the Nashville tornadoes. The tornado outbreak was responsible for at least 41 deaths including 7 in Georgia and 34 in Alabama. Tuscaloosa County tornado (F3) The worst of the outbreak started around 7:00 PM CDT when a supercell originating from Mississippi entered Pickens and Tuscaloosa Counties. It produced an F3 and traveled north of the city of Tuscaloosa. Two injuries were reported and five homes and 11 mobile homes were destroyed from this storm that traveled over 17 miles (27 km) from Holman to north of Northport. 24 homes and 13 mobile homes were also damaged Jefferson County tornado (F5) Shortly after 7:30 PM, the supercell spawned the Birmingham Tornado as a wall cloud. It touched down in extreme eastern Tuscaloosa County and then cut a 31-mile long (49 km), 3/4-mile wide swath through nine Birmingham suburbs with F3 to F5 damage including Oak Grove, Sylvan Springs, Rock …
