Following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, there became a strong concern in this country
about our ability to cope with natural disasters. Due to the expensive cost of
acquiring detailed data about the hazard before, during and after the event, many
agencies are putting systems forth to allow citizens affected by the events to
contribute details about their surroundings. This may be in the form of data sent
over a mobile phone, or Internet connection to a PC. Please weigh in your thoughts
about using this system as a method of coping with natural disasters by taking this
brief survey.

On August 13, 2010, storm chaser Chad Cowan and New York Times best-selling author of “The Stormchasers” Jenna Blum caught this INCREDIBLE tornado west of Rochester, MN, near the town of Hayfield. With their canine companion Woodrow looking on, they at one point closed to with 200 yards of the strong tornado, and ultimately documented the tornado’s last gasps, which came in the form of gorgeous, blue-sky rope-out! To order your copy of Jenna’s book, “The Stormchasers,” visit the following link: www.jennablum.com You can also catch Chad and Jenna’s storm chases LIVE at www.TornadoVideos.net and www.chasethestorms.com

On Monday, BNVN Weather Paparazzi Eric Treece was chasing one of the several tornadoes that formed in eastern Colorado along Highway 71 south of Brush, CO. In the footage, Eric is standing underneath a rope tornado that is less than a quarter mile away from him on the ground and rises up and extends over him as it goes up to the cloud base. The video pans back to the ground and back up to the cloud base to show how large and how long the tornado actual is. As you watch this footage, note that the tornado from the clouds does extend to the ground but there is rotation on the ground. The condensation funnel of the tornado is invisible until it touches the ground and throws debris into the air. To license this footage, contact www.bnvn.com

I know what a hurricane can do and that it is a huge storm that normally occurs in the warm tropical waters of the Caribbean and such. This whole weekend though, I have been watching FOX news because they are talking about Hurricane Gustav practically nonstop. It is very interesting and intriguing. I am very fascinated with hurricaness. My question is, is a hurricane like a big huge tornado? I always thought that they were because of the eye, so you would think they are spinning around. Sorry for my lack of knowledge. I live in Indiana, and have never been through a hurricane and probably never will be.

When it lightly rains im packing to go to the storm shelter. If lighting comes, i start to cry, If i hear thunder i hyperventilate.

And if theres a tornado watch im out the door, even when my grandma and mom say no.

im 15 and im SCARED TO DEATH of even sprinkling rain.

Help?

That makes it the fourth EF4 tornado in eastern North Dakota and northwestern Minnesota this season, according to meteorologist Greg Gust, based in Grand Forks.

Science has several basic rules that need to be followed to prove an idea, or theory.

1) The data needs to be repeatable. With "Global Warming" even NASA can’t get their numbers to come out the same when they crunch the numbers as they first had 1998 as the warmest year, then 1934, then 2006. Since the numbers aren’t repeatable, then science dictates that they are not proof of anything.

2) Other scientists need to get the same results. Now that the data has been deleted, there is no way the data can be verified, checked, or repeated by anyone else. Science dictates that all conclusions resulting from these numbers cannot prove any theory.

3) The theory should be tested. 30 years ago, computer models stated that today’s climate temperatures would be 15 degrees warmer than today, there would be more hurricanes and tornado’s, and floods and droughts would ravage the planet on a biblical scale. None of this has happened, yet believers still hold to the position that these computer models are accurate. Science states that if the theory can’t be calculated, then it doesn’t exist.

So why do believers just abandon all scientific principals and believe something that can’t pass basic scientific standards?

Do they have other non scientific motives?

.HANNA EXITING THE REGION BUT CAUSING SIGNIFICANT LOW LEVEL
SHEARING TO PRODUCE POSSIBLE TORNADOES…

AT 619 PM EDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A
LINE OF ROTATING SHOWERS SPINNING AROUND THE CENTER OF TROPICAL
STORM HANNA. AT 5 PM…THE CENTER OF HANNA WAS LOCATED OVER
SOUTHWEST SUSSEX COUNTY DELAWARE. NORTH OF HANNA…THE SHOWERS WERE
ROTATING COUNTERCLOCKWISE AND THE INTERACTION WITH THE LAND IS
CAUSING SIGNIFICANT LOW LEVEL CONVERGENCE AND SHEAR TO PRODUCE
ROTATING SHOWERS THAT COULD PRODUCE SHORT LIVED VORTEX CENTERS OR
FUNNEL CLOUDS.

THESE ARE SHORT LIVED EVENTS AND IN SOME CASES VERY DIFFICULT TO
LOCATE ON RADAR. IF YOU SEE ANY SUSPICIOUS CLOUDS TAKE SHELTER
IMMEDIATELY.

I read it, and don’t get what they want us to do. Prepare for a tornado?

This is raw video from David Reimer shot just south of downtown Oklahoma City on the now infamous May 10, 2010. Sirens were activated just after 4:45 PM CDT when the supercell that would go on to produce several strong tornadoes, including the Moore EF4, first became tornado warned just southwest of the city. This was a High Risk day from the Storm Prediction Center and the local media had been hyping up this event for the past week, still there were some people that did not take the warning seriously, as you can see in the video. This was about ten minutes before we moved northeast to get out of the way of the softball sized hail inbound and to get in the path of the cell out east of the metro. Be sure to check out Connor’s excellent tornado video from the red river that was taken about 90 minutes later. This video is not for rebroadcast, but a clean version of the video is available for media licensing.

Tornado’s are one thing, earthquakes are another, but you don’t live in a hurricane prone area!

Storm Chaser Andrew Pritchard of PrairieStormMedia.com caught this tornado near Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin on July 22, 2010! This storm produced multiple tornadoes and caused damage in several areas of southeast Wisconsin.

My town was recently hit by a tornado that left lots of homes destroyed and damaged, businesses gone, people just out of place. It looks in some areas like a bomb went off here. If you’d like to verify, you can Google "Albertville, AL Tornado" to get more information, photos, stories. I’d like to start a fundraiser for the people of my town but I don’t know where to start. Any suggestions/people willing to donate? All help is welcomed!

OK so i have a best guy friend. Hes been my friend for about 8 months.
About 3 months ago or so i THINK he flirted with me.
He said "I love you" one time and always called me beautiful.

But now im really wondering if he actually liked me or it was nothing.

On one of my facebook photos there is a picture of him and me.
6 of my friends were comenting on it 3 months ago saying
"We know you like him:)"
"You two are about as subtle as a tornado in a monastery"
And stuff like that lol

I told them that i didnt like him (even though i did) and that they were full of crap.
But today he finally saw what everyone said on that picture.
He commented "OMYGOSH hahaha!Well glad the whole "Me and (My name)" thing is forgot about now…everybody was so full of crap thinking that…"

:( Do you think he never had feelings for me or what?

TornadoVideos.net deploying inside multiple tornadoes with the Dominator in northern Oklahoma on two separate supercells as part of a historic Oklahoma tornado outbreak. The first series of suction vortices is from the supercell just south of Wakita, OK that tracked near Medford, and the white elephant trunk was west of Pawkuska in Osage County. We also intercepted this second tornado with my window down since I developed so fast, and nearly blew us off the road. Check out the full story on Discovery Channel’s Storm Chasers starting October 2010!

Just to let you all know about this potential severe weather outbreak. Tornadoes are likely today into tonight.

Yesterday, I found some green and white poop and pee on my kitchen floor. An answerer suggested that it may be a snake. I was hoping it’d come out while I was home so that I could save the little guy from my cats.

Well, unfortunately, he/she came out while I was at work and I came home to a tornado of things flown all around the floor. I then found pieces of the body.

What was this? A garter snake? I’m guessing this is part of the body/tail.

Yeah Susan. I really didn’t want my cats to find it because I knew it’d die a torturous death but it didn’t come out. And I still can’t find the rest of the body and I hope they didn’t stash it somewhere and it ends up stinking. But yeah…
Good point Quixotic. I did notice the break was rather clean and I didn’t see cat teeth imprints. I was also wondering where they would keep the body because when they kill something, they usually leave it in the middle of the floor for me to see.

I really hope he/she got back outside however it got inside. I’ll look for a skink. I googled and skinks are in my area. Thanks everyone!
