For example, if some SEVERE devastating "end of the world" weather tragedy (earthquake, tsunami, hurricane) were to occur and there were numerous people in need of serious medical attention. Assuming medical supplies were available in their disposal, would a registered nurse with 5 years of experience in the ER or ICU be able to treat the the people on their own?

The reason for my question is that I have been watching a lot of medical television series (bad reference for information, please excuse me) and there was an episode where a nurse is checking out a gunshot wound in a surplus store filled with supplies during a robbery, the nurse always responds "he needs a doctor." The nurse is unable to extract the wound by themselves?

Sorry if I sound misinformed. Could any other fields hold their own without being a doctor? (PA, NP, EMT, etc.)

This week on Fox News, Eric Bolling Accused the President of " Chugging 40’s " In Ireland while he should be back at home visiting the damaged area’s where tornado’s hit. The Thing is though, last week President Obama did hit damaged area’s. On top of that, he set up FEMA In the area’s that were about to get hammered before going to Ireland. Yet he failed to mention that in his bash. Bush didn’t send Fema into New Orleans until 5 days after the Hurricane struck the coast. Also another failed fact to mention. But the thing is, even if Obama jumped on a Jet and flew back to the area’s that were damaged. Fox News would just accuse him of exploiting a Tragedy for a photo OPP. Like they do whenever he goes anywhere. Recently they called him visiting NY after the death of Osama Bin Laden " disgusting". I mean no matter what he does, their going to attack him for it so why does it matter?

I mean, What if he cut his vacation short, And jumps on a Jet back to the USA. If Obama was in Joplin, Missouri, Today, wouldn’t conservatives would just accuse him of exploiting a tragedy for another photo op?

This is the video I made that documents the F4 tornado that hit Caruthersville Missouri on April 2, 2006. If you have any questions, you can contact me at ogtomlin13@hotmail.com .

My grandmother lives in the Lady lakes area, and that is a long distance call from where I live. When we try to call, it says that it cannot connect us because of an emergancy in the area, or that all lines are busy. I am very worried, and have looked through the Yahoo! Photo Albums of the tragedy. I live where I cannot access her by travel. How can I find out if she is okay?
