Clearly all good advise to dog owners. But now, what is your question?

Where I live, tornados aren't really an emergency... They are the norm. It would be very very surprising if we didn't have at least 3 tornado warnings every year. The nice thing about tornados is that the sirens start up a lot of time in advance, and we have a nice basement. Getting the dogs down there is no problem, but getting all the bird cages down there takes a good 10-15 minutes.

Other than that... we don't really have "emergency" weather around here

i live where i could be affected by either earthquake or tsunami ... i have an earthquake kit which contains enough supplies for me to live for 5 days ... it includes water for five days, freeze dried food, flashlight that does not require batteries, radio that does not require batteries, first aid kit, tarp, small collapsible shovel, rope, and i can't remember the rest, it is big and can be carried like a backpack if you were really strong (the water jugs are heavy) ... i have added to the kit, canned dog food, a dog life jacket (in case of tsunami), dog jacket, dog towel, a harness and leash and a tennis ball :O)
