Hurricane season is actually June 1st to November 30th in the northern hemisphere.
According to http://www.hurricanecity.com/city/nassau.htm the islands are affected (not necesssarily hit) by hurricanes about every 3 years.
Acording to http://nassau.usembassy.gov/information_for_travelers.html August, September, and early October are the times of highest risk.
You can protect yourself by purchasing "trip interruption" insurance before you leave home. The insurance is sold by travel agencies and - for hurricanes - has to be purchased before the storm is named.
Anytime that’s not April 1st to November 1st. Thats hurricane season, but two years ago there was a hurricane in mid November
I am from Florida, I think Hurricane Season is from June 1-November 30. For the past 2 years, we’ve had nothing…which is very lucky. But then again, luck runs out…I suggest you go during the winter/spring seasons…it’s your best bet.
*Below is a great and informational website* Check it out and I hope it helps!
Try to stay away from August, September and the first 2 weeks of October if you can. It’s the worst months for tropical storms and rain.
If you can March, April, May, June and July are perfect months.
Enjoy and good luck)
Pretty much avoid going there from July through mid Nov. That’s prime hurricane season and it’s humid as H*** during that time. Any other time is pretty good.
