I would give him a couple days off with no work then re-evaluate. Is he acting normal, playing in the pasture and looking happy then it would probably be OK to ride him in a week. Take it slow and make sure you are paying extra attention to how he is feeling/acting. You obviously know horses and know yours very well. If something is wrong or simply 'off' about him then just don't ride for a day or two. All horses are different so you just have to adapt to yours. If it were my horse I would give 3-4 days off then trail ride (at a walk) for a couple day. Jazz bounces back from everything really quickly though so your horse might take a little longer.

Someone suggested lunging. For most horses lunging is just as strenous at riding. If you are worried about his health for riding then don't lunge.

I'm guessing Fay(sp?) is coming through your area. All we're getting is LOADS of rain but thankfully nothing major. Hope all is well there!

If a colic was not serious then I would say you would be fine riding him after a couple of days. You know your horse, you know when he is not feeling well and when he is but colic is colic. Once the impaction is gone the horse should be fine again unless their are other problems if that makes sense. If he is not rolling around or looking sick then he is probably just fine again. Weird things can make a horse colic including the weather. Good luck
