Will the hurricane Fay effect my Vacation to Florida and the Bahamas?
I’m going to a Bahamas cruise on the Carnival Sensation on Thursday August 21st. Our departure is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Do you think that this vacation is going to be dangerous and should I cancel it? We come back the 24th. I’m not really sure If this will be a safe trip and I’m not sure about what exactly is happening in Florida right now. Please help and Thank You so much!!

its hurricane season. Right now Fay has headed back out to sea. She is supposed to pick up power and re hit land sometime in the next 24-48hrs. The storm will hit either the north coast of florida or near by(like near georgia). As for your trip, you never know when another hurricane will come along but thats what the weather forcast is for. Some of the areas you plan to visit might still be cleaning up but they are accustomed to hurricane season. The cruise ship company will be prepared and if its not safe to sail they’ll cancel the trip.
I don’t think this trip is any more dangerous than driving to the store for a gallon of milk.

Florida is a haven for hurricanes, tropical storms and other forms of nature that can ruin your plans, however Fay, seemed to me at least, to be a bunch of hype. It didn’t even rain over here and school was canceled for 2 days, the first 2 days! Very unfortunate for college students. Anyway, don’t worry your trip to the Bahamas will at most be windy =P
Hold on… I’m riding the same ship and leave tomorrow too. We were supposedly leaving from PORT CANAVERAL. Did it change to Ft. Lauderdale????
yes it changed to fort lauderdale .. i got a call today telling me that port canaveral was closed due to the storm so now its in port everglade which is located in fort lauderdale
