I do the same thing and sometimes it will cause friction, Like times at 4 am you wake up and find out a big storms on the way and in your rush to grab your gear you end up waking her out of a sound sleep.. Or the coming in late after a great storm... What they seem to be more worried about is you getting hurt or killed out there.. Plus a good excuse i use is well at least im not out at some bar getting hammered LOL. Best way to take care of this is to openly let them know what your doing and even invite them to take part...
